If you purchase an object licensed by Creative Commons (CC) that only requires artist attribution, do you simply indicate that under a separate heading in the FM credits, or is there more to it than that? I wasn't sure how it works if one person buys it, credits the artist, and then distributes it publicly.

Generally the site you got it from will tell you how to attribute them.

what is this thing about purchased objects? dos this mean there are other available objects for Dromed that most authors don't know?

I imagine it's a 3ds model (there are thousands available for purchase out there) which he has converted to Thief format.

I think most of the pay for objects are high poly and authors charge for them considering how much time and work they had invested in their objects.

Double-check the Creative Commons licence, but yeah, pretty certain just putting the artist's name in the credits will be enough.

could you get objects from other games to dromed apart from system shock 2?
Judith on 19/8/2016 at 15:13
You could, but that is illegal, unless a particular game publisher says otherwise (so never). Oh, I believe Epic released some UT assets, but I'm not sure whether to be used in other games or just between versions of Unreal Engine.

You've seriously never heard of (

It may be illegal, but if it's just for some free fan map,
nobody cares.

Be very careful with music files purchased or otherwise from other sites. Someone like FenPhoenix could get hammered by Youtube's Content ID system if the music you use in fan levels turns out to be copyrighted or "royalty-free"
