IndieFort Bundle (has a lot of awful junk in it but some good stuff too!) - by henke

(
http://www.gamersgate.co.uk/indiefort-bundle) IndieFort Bundle, has a 3 games for 3 bucks kinda deal going on. 24 games to chose from, and there are a few clear diamonds in the muck there. Anyone who doesn't have Tiny and Big should defenitely get that, because it's great. Personally I picked Project Black Sun, Air Buccaneers, and Three Dead Zed. Here's a video with all the games:

Only played a bit of Project Black Sun yet, it's unexpectedly hard. If anyone wants to do some Air Buccaneers co-op, lemme know. Looks like fun.

That's good value. I went with Star Prospector, Sentinel 3 and Cell:Emergence.
Will let you know my thoughts as and when.
Cheers for the tip Henkster :)

Yes, do that!
I made it to the third checkpoint in Project Black Sun, found a ammo-upgrade and a shiny silver coin. Then I fell down a pit to the room where I had started out. Grrrr.

Installing Sentinel 3 now.

I picked up Cell: Emergence because some Deus Ex dude did it, Dark Scavenger because it's a turn based combat point and click adventure game (!) that seems delightfully bonkers, and some Middle Eastern sRPG cum novella. I will report back on whether they're any good, though I'm pretty sure I'm going to love Dark Scavenger regardless of good sense, my own finely honed critiquing skills, objective analysis, or just about anything anyone else cares to lob at it.
Air Buccaneers is multiplayer only, right? That's not terribly exciting to me. What about the other ones, henke? Project Black Sun's a Metroidvania of some description, innit?

It's a Metroidvania thing and it is hard as shit. You can only take 2 hits before dying and the checkpoints are quite far apart. Early on there's a lot of trial and error, blocks falling from the ceiling and crushing you, flesh-eating plants springing from the ground right in front of you. Eventually you learn to watch for those kinds of things though, and advance carefully when you're in a new area. The difficulty certainly adds to the sense of adventure. Played it for 2-3 hours today and have made mostly steady progress, until I ran into the first boss. I've attempted that fight 20 times now and the most I've managed to get down his health is to about the 25% mark.
Let us know what you think of Dark Scavenger, I only noticed a good buzz about it in the RPS comments after I'd already made my purchases.

Hmmmm. Both Sentinels and Prospector are not up to much. Might check out Cell doodad.
Edit - Right, cell is basically a shoot 'em up of sorts which I am finding frustrating and difficult. Prospector is starting to develop a kind of charm.

Eeeuuuuuuggghhhhhh Project Black Sun's (
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-hg7HjyUPw) Crab-boss is fiiiiinally dead. After 30-ish attempts. Good God. After the first 20 or so tries I gave up and headed back and combed over the previous areas, hoping for find some powerup or something to help me. Found some extra ammo and grenade slots, but most useful of all, an extra heart. I know where the next boss is, fought it once already. I don't think it'll be too difficult, but it's a good distance from the nearest checkpoint. Dreading the trek I'll no doubt have to repeat a few times.
I gotta say... I am kinda loving this game. Good solid gameplay, tense exploration. For only 2 bucks it sure is a lot of game to sink your teeth into.
