Hello,
I'm in the process of putting together a story for my first Thief mission, and was wondering if anyone had some more information on the city wardens? I know they were mentioned in a cutscene for Assassins, one of them trying to hire Garrett to work for them.
Please don't give me any information that may give away any major plot points for Thief 2:TMA, as I have yet to play it. I know, it sounds like "give me answers, but don't give me answers", but if anyone has anything regarding the wardens before The Metal Age, it'd be appreciated.
Thanks.

check the readables in assassins. i'm too lazy to actually dig the string itself out of the crf, but it's in there somewhere.

You're not going to find much info on them in TDP or TMA.
They're easily the most underdeveloped aspect of the entire series.
At least considering things that deserve more development.

How can anyone seriously entertain the notion of writing
Thief missions when they've only played one of the games in the series? How on earth can you properly appreciate the Thief universe if you've only been exposed to a small portion of it?
This place is full of lunatics.

Yeah? You got a problem with me being loony? Cuz I'll totally cast a magic spell on your house after divining where it is with my ESP and psychic powers that I gained after going on a 2 hour sea dive that I created with turtles. Yeah. That's right.
Seriously though, PLAY Thief 2. It's great, and fleshes out the story quite a bit more. If you don't...well, you're insane.

I only played Thief: The Metal Age, yet I have read a lot about Thief: TDP and I am not interested at all on T: DS. In fact only about a month ago I saw T: DS for sell here but it's so expensive that I don't feel like buying. I'll wait for the price to lower down.

I have Thief 2, and will be playing it eventually, but I recently finished the first game and feel it's better to take time off between the two to appreciate the series.
There's also plenty of Thief:TDP fan missions that I have (and have been playing since finishing TDP) and wouldn't understand the backwards-logic of skipping TDP fan missions to play the second installment, then backtracking afterwards.
Not only that, but I never knew there was a hard and fast rule about being a Thief road scholar before doing any level designing. I knew what happened in TDP, my mission is to take place just after that period and therefore don't understand why playing TMA is manditory.
I love it when gamers that are, well, "lunatics" over a gaming series implement some ridiculous set of rules to those who are interested in trying their hand at creating something of their own. You make the levels you want, and I'll do what I want.
Sorry to have violated your tenets, pal.

Did this dude called us lunatics?
But I know I'm a Martian.

Bloody Martians and their Buggalo ranches...let's see who picks up on that. :)

Futurama FTW.
I didn't finish TDP, because I LOATHE the undead. I know enough from watching cinematics and reading stuff around the internet, though, and the only reason I haven't completed an FM is because I'm too lazy. :nono:
