Well duh, they're horrible people who should be disliked.
It certainly seems so to me, but I've heard of people giving standing ovations, cheering for them, etc. because it's "Nat-zees" that they're killing. Maybe it's the director being so clever as to point out the cruelty in casual people who cheer for the ruthless slaughter of even well-known bad people, twisting the finger back at the audience to say, "see how these evil people laugh at the destruction of lives? Well, you're just as bad."
Or maybe that's delving too deeply, and it's instead the director trying to be truly funny by offering disturbing slaughter.

The only point you've made--and you continue to make--is that you have trouble engaging in debate without resorting to dismissive kneejerk assumptions.
Well yes, dethtoll
is being overly aggressive. But you also need to take into account that the insult he threw at scary
kitties was the word
pussy. I don't think it was an insult so much as a joke.

This is exactly how I took it. The most logical, reasonable and likeable character (aside from Shosanna) is Lamda. The Basterds are just idiotic murderers. There's hardly any bad nazis in the film (well, apart from the obvious). The pub scene summarizes it all - due to the basterds, a new father dies alongside his friends.
Kill Bill was just stylished slaughter to entertaing masses. This is way more.

Yes I was making a joke with the "pussy" comment, and I fail to see what I said that was a "dismissive kneejerk assumption"- an ironic statement since you're basically doing the same thing by completely ignoring what I have to say by calling it "dismissive kneejerk assumptions." It's kinda gotten to be your thing, yanno? ;)

Not at all, because this is what you (sometimes) do:
* Someone else: "I didn't really care for the fish entree we had tonight."
* You: "What, you only like fish if it's greasy and breaded and served by fucking Long John Silver's?"
This is not something I do. I'm just your garden variety internet asshole, but at least I stick with what I'm given.

You might have had a point if you didn't use a completely idiotic theoretical example.

I'll let the evidence speak or itself.

Translation: I don't have any response to that so I'll just be all "arf arf im stitch i don't need to explain it mom where's my cookies"

Maybe it's that, OR maybe it's that he's figured out that when you get into an argument with dethtoll any kind of response is futile. Not because dethtoll is right, but because dethtoll will either change the subject, post some variation on "that would makes sense if only you..." or die of old age before admitting he's wrong. In summary, goddammit dethtoll.
