I usually only buy games that I am going to play soon. My list is just games in progress, I keep a few different games going because i am moody.
Alpha Prime (game nobody has played that is surprisingly good)
the 2 Half-Life 2 episodes ( just bought Ep.2)
Playing Co-op Dawn of War 2 campaign with a friend
The Void
The Ball (almost done, and yes, I paid back Malf :) )

I have no backlog, because I don't tend to go back to games I abandon and I only buy games that I want to install and play right then.
I'm an immediate gratification kind of guy when it comes to gaming.

I completed that (one or two years ago) and thought it was thoroughly unexciting from start till finish. I really can't remember much about it other than it being a completely bland game.

Then I started Extraction Point, spent about an hour with it before getting bored. Started Perseus Mandate today, that one is slightly better. Think I'll skip XP, but play PM before I move on to the sequel.
You're probably about 1/3rd through XP (Steam claims I completed it in 3.1 hours, with a bit of reloading), just something to think about when deciding whether to skip it completely.

Ah, thanks for letting me know WK. :)
In other news I can cross Bully and Machinarium of my list. Finished both tonight. They were decent, though I wouldn't recommend either to anyone.

Alpha Prime was a decent shooter for what it was. And at 5 bucks it wasn't a bad buy. I have a soft spot for indie/B-movies games. Everyone should try out Twin Sector as well.
Nameless Voice on 22/1/2011 at 00:31
I've nearly bought Twin Sector once or twice, but every single review of it that I could find said it was awful...

Yeah but a lot of reviews trashed Alpha Protocol and AP was fucking amazing in spite of its flaws.
Angel Dust on 22/1/2011 at 01:37
Yes but there were just as many reviews which praised it too, even while they were pointing out its issues. The critical reception was more divisive than negative and the same can not be said for Twin Sector.

I've kinda been in the same situation. I'm going to give the demo a shot once I finish up with Alpha Protocol.

I lied about my backlog, and not getting any other games until I beat Super Meat Boy. Since I was in the mood for a good old fashioned point and click adventure game, I went ahead and became the proud owner of the GOGed up version of Broken Sword: Directors Cut.
It's a game I was originally saving for the iPad, but hell, I want to play it now.
