Internet porn and the real life: Just like in the movies... - by Kolya

It wasn't clear, but you refused (and still do?) to even accept it as a possibility, instead choosing to "school" Vasquez completely unncessarily. But you're no teacher, as you said in the philosophical question thread. A rare moment of inspiration. If I were you, I wouldn't invoke the image again.
I suggest that it is you that has done the frothing, too. I don't know where you think you get this authority to tell people to "shut up" or to issue blunt commands.

Two pages into a thread titled Internet porn, and I have yet to see even a single picture of tig ole bitties, dood. TIG OLE BITTIES!
I am disappointed in all of you. In ways you can't even begin to imagine.

All normal bits are seen as too big and unsightly, and some young women suffer this "malformation" so much they want everything extra chopped off. I.e. female circumcision, only done voluntarily :erg:
Mmmhmm, nothing like it.
I mean Vasquez even goes into as much detail as "everything chopped off" which is what a circumcision is. And somehow I'm supposed to
doubt that this is what she means?

Same place you get the authority to criticise me because someone used the "wrong words".
You know why I started labouring this point? Because I do think that porn's idealisation of female genitalia leads to perfectly normally people developing dissatisfaction with their own bodies, and I think it's an important factor in the whole "is porn wrong?" debate. If porn
were causing people to seek voluntary circumcision I'd be very, very shocked and disgusted so yeah, the distinction and the definition is critical.

Just to put this boring shit to bed, it was totally fucking obvious to me what she meant and although it's an extreme example we're all guilty of doing that sometimes.
This conversation is derailing worthwhile discussion.

Even amongst the more brutal body modification stuff (meatotomy etc.) which some people might be inspired to go after having seen it online, I've never seen
any porn glorifying female circumcision, so it would be a bizarre leap to make anyway.
Anal bleaching on the other hand, there's something we can all get behind.
I think amateur porn is an interesting field, the ability to make and share videos online is so great now that pretty much anyone can show the world what they do. But there's an inherent competitiveness, particularly in some fields, and I'm sure the positive feedback people get pushes them to go faster, harder, stronger, deeper, wider, etc.
And this kind of thing: (

What is perhaps worrying is the vastly increased amount of non-condom porn, particularly for the risk-prone gay market, and perhaps that was influenced by the straight porn which seems to say "we don't need protection, there IS no disease for US!!!". I'm sure most normal people see it as mere fantasy and wouldn't let it influence their real-world choices, but equally by creating such an "ideal" it's maybe not responsible on the part of companies. BAN THIS FILTH.

My view is that the more ubiquitous form of porn isn't even the stuff that's particularly hardcore - all the two naked chicks pressing together on magazine covers etc is still far more explicit than anything than would've been allowed even 10 years ago on the shelves of regular stores not on the top shelf or behind the counter - and that's the stuff that I'd say is the more potent social force (and not for good).
Scots, this is a great point, and I think this is an underlying sociological (and probably more economic) issue that extends far beyond porn. I think porn is the "sex sells" brought to its logical conclusion.
Sure, we see all kinds of objectification and all kinds of bad stuff being subconsciously pushed on the men and (moreover) women who see a magazine cover with two naked women pushing against each other. It dictates what is deemed worthwhile, appealing, etc. etc. However, this is present everywhere, not just in porn. Victoria's Secret, Coors Light, and even Go Daddy.com in the Super Bowl this year. Sex sells, and, unfortunately, the advertising business is also in the business of telling us what we should be buying or try to be selling. Porn is all of that brought to the logical conclusion... why sell a product when you can just sell the sex?
That doesn't mean it is good or that I'm in favor of it. It is, however, the way things are, and I think everyone is influenced in at least a small degree such that they find what is being sold attractive, even if they don't like it.

You know, they talked about this article on the radio last week. I talked about it with the better half. It just melts my mind that people can get so involved in porn that they destroy perfectly good sexual relationships to pursue it.
Very sad. Reminds me of dope. Like they do harder and harder dope until they have like a huge tolerance to it and the street dope just doesn't pull them outta the sick anymore. They need P dope to even just get well. Well, they need hardcore porn just to be able to get off and it is sad. Real feelings and relationships are at stake, as well as possibly kids being involved in a split-up family. God, people suck.

I have no idea what this thread is about. Are you all saying that videos of shitting on midgets and blowing goats is a bad thing?
And just for the record, as horrifying as some of the porn is that's out there that I've managed to come upon (puns are fun!), I still find great pleasure in something as simple as cleavage.
... and legs.
... and hair.
... and lips.
... and damn near anything attached to a woman. Sure I'm a colossal pervert, but the need for hardcore porn in order to rise to the occasion, so to speak, doesn't exist. The warmth, the scent, and the feel does it for me. And always will.

So what you're basically saying is, straight 1 on 1 porn is just a gateway to hardcore BDSM bestiality?
