RIP Richard Matheson.

He wrote one of the pivotal books that got me back in sic-fi. I'm just glad that even if I didn't like it he enjoyed the latest adaptation of his most most famous novel.

Just read I Am Legend for the first time last year, after watching The Last Man On Earth. Awesome book, even better than I expected. I admit I don't know much about his other works, unfortunately.

I once started reading I am Legend on holiday but left it in a hotel room in Florida. The first two thirds were excellent, RIP.

I recently found that he wrote a number of the more interesting episodes of The Twilight Zone. He even wrote a short story called Duel which ended up basically starting Steven Spielberg's career. Even beyond I Am Legend, Matheson has some far-reaching influence in film and TV and it's a shame to see him go.

OK, that's fairly hilarious that no one (SubJeff or otherwise) noticed or mentioned this until now.

You know, this did seem (

There's also a special irony in SubJeff having been the only one to reply to the previous thread :p

Ha ha. That's the internet for you.
So many greats have gone on the past year I've lost track.
