Now I think about it, the BF2142 intro also does what Taffer36 described with Left 4 Dead. Watching the intro teaches you how to play Titan mode, which encompasses Conquest mode anyway, so you're pretty much there. And it manages to be good fun to watch as well.

Well the Deus Ex intro was wordy, cliche-embracing, pretentious and awesome. I'd say that's a pretty accurate representation of the game.
It also used the game engine, models, and locations, right down to its oft-criticized combat AI.

That, right above me, is why I love this forum. Best description of DX ever.

The Dawn of War intro was pretty good. It was a great action-packed, cinematic fight, at the same time as revealing some of the more strategic elements of the gameplay such as taking control points with flags, and thereby allowing yourself more space to summon buildings from orbit.

The Silent Hill intros definately represented the look and feel of the games perfectly. Take for example the intro to Silent Hill 2 (the best intro of all the games), it sets the overall tone of the game, shows the sadness within the games main character etc. Great intro.

I-War's much-celebrated intro sequence is also a pretty decent example in this regard. Only pretty decent because most of the intro is scene-setting rather than gameplay-related; however the sections set on the ship along with the combat scenes are, whilst still cinematic, nicely indicative of the gameplay.
