I recently finished up Thief 2 and had a really funny incident. In the final Sabotage mission, I was perched above the computer room on the catwalk:

After trying to time the MechBeasts patrols to get the two switches and failing miserably each time, I had an idea. Why not just 'let loose the hounds' and crack open the 5 frogbeast eggs I had to see what happens. Well, you might guess what happened, all heck broke loose as the Hatfields and McCoys started trashing each other. Even the one Mech from the other side of the gate came in and had fun. The battle just kept going though. I though it would end a lot sooner and for the life of me I couldn't figure out why the Mechs were still launching their cannons. Finally it ended and I heard the distinct sound of one remaining frog on the floor. Wow, that is some frog. I even tried shooting some broadheads at it and it still would not die. Strange. Finally, I gassed him and he laid to rest on the computer floor. I named him Testudo after the event. :thumb:
This may have been covered in another thread so I apologize ahead of time if it was. Has anyone else seen this happen before?
Also, at the end of the game I didn't get a cut-scene. When I rebooted my PC and finished the game again, I finally got it. I would have gone postal if I didn't get the final cut-scene.... :cheeky:

It's a deathstage 12 problem. It happens, and often allows you to reuse arrows and flashbombs.

How many different deathstage 12 problems are there? Does this only happen to the unpatched version?

There's one Death Stage 12 problem. Death Stage 12. It means an object cannot be destroyed.
The reason why there appear to be many variations is that becoming indestructable will have different consequences, depending on the object. For example -
* a broadhead arrow - the player will be able to retrieve and reuse it, regardless of what it hit
* a frogbeast - it will not be able to self-destruct (and therefore cannot injure another AI)
* a window - nothing will be able to break it
* a table - never destroyed in any case, so there is no noticeable effect
I believe Death Stage 12 can occur in all versions of Thief/Thief Gold/Thief 2.

I get the DS12 in Life of the Party quite often with the FrogBeasts.
When that happens, I just run around and attract guards from other floors, getting them to chase me to where the FrogBeast is.
I have found that when I can get Vilnia to where the FrogBeast is, she will kill the guards when they get in the way of her magic.
I have also discovered that if I leave her with the FrogBeast, ride an elevator to a different floor then make my way back to the floor she and the FrogBeast are on, she is frozen like a statue! I can walk right up to her without her moving a muscle. If I save the game and restart, she begins to move again, wailing on the Amazing, Indestructible, Invincible Frogbeast as if her magic will sooner or later damage him.

I am told that Dromed can be used to make the Frogbease vulnerable again. Where can I find a copy of Dromed that will work with my Thief 2 v1.18 game?
I have been to many sites and none of their Dromed's work. It keeps crashing due to a GUI Font error?

You need to install Dromed to the same folder where Thief 2 is located. The path to the game should be as short as possible and should not contain spaces and non-latin characters.

Thanx! Got it!
