I've just re-installed Thief2 Metal Age on an old Windows 2000 SP4 machine with an nVidia GeForce2 MX video card. It's been formatted since I last had any games on it. When I play now, all the guards and characters (like Basso) are invisible. I can hear them and they react to me, but I cannot see them. This happens with the regular game as well as fan missions. It used to play fine on this machine.
Anyone ever have this happen? What causes this? :confused:

Don't know, sorry. Perhaps someone will stop by who has experienced this. It might be worth the effort to do another clean install of thief2 though.

I un-installed and re-installed Thief. Didn't help. I tried a few older drivers, as far back as nVidia 77.77 and that didn't work. So I tried a newer driver 93.71 and all is well.
Thanks to everyone for their suggestions and pointing me in the right direction. I would never have suspected the video driver because everything else displays fine.
Not sure why this happens at all, but hopefully this will help someone else.
