Robbery Bob is indeed a lot of fun.
If it's stealth you are looking for, both Perfect Cell and Dynamite Jack are excellent too.

Hey addink, long time no see! :)
I've got Perfect Cell. It started out great, but got samey pretty quickly. Dynamite Jack looks like some kind of stealthy version of Bomberman, will have to check that one out.

I'm definitely not warming to games played with a virtual joystick/gamepad. Chinatown Wars controls well enough, but it's functional rather than enjoyable. On the other hand, for certain types of games the touchpad is pretty much perfect - Plants vs Zombies, World of Goo. I haven't yet played any graphics adventures, but I imagine they're also well suited to pads - and I'd imagine that strategy games should work really well.
I'm actually a bit surprised by how much I mind the virtual joystick thing - after all, it took me no time at all to get used to typing on the virtual keyboard. It's probably that I look at the keyboard while using it, while I can't look at the virtual stick while running/driving around Liberty City. In any case, I can definitely not imagine playing and enjoying emulated old-school platformers on touchscreen devices.

I like the Dead Space mobile game specifically because they have no overlay for the controls. Just regions on the screen that you use. It works really well. although it actually works better on a smaller screen. It's difficult to play on my wifes Galaxy Tab 10.1, but my Nexus 7 (should be waiting for me when I get home today) I think will be a much nicer fit.

This should be of serious interest to phone & tablet gamers(*). You just tell the device where the on-screen controls are, and it activates them for you; so you get a proper control pad, and the game doesn't know you're not using the touch-screen directly.
Definitely watch the video. The original version always seemed a little clunky, but this thing looks absolutely superb.
(*) They also point out that "The iControlPad2 is not tied to phones or tablets. It is designed to be used with anything from your Raspberry Pi, Dev-board or USB Stick computer, to Robots, hobby projects, PC, Mac, bare PCBs/Motherboards, set-top boxes and anything else with Bluetooth."

That controller looks cool, but I'm not quite swayed yet. I'd really need to jailbreak my iPad before considering it. As for the control-scheme: programming the d-pad and buttons to onscreen points would probably be a breeze but the analogue stuff feels like it would probably be more difficult. A lot of racing games has you rotating the device to steer, for instance, so is programming one of the sticks to correspond to the rotation of the iPad possible? Also, only 14 hour battery life? I can't see any mention of what type of batteries it takes. Of course if it comes with a charger and I can just plug it into a wall socket then that's fine.
Still, it does look cool. And I guess if I decide to get a MS Surface next January it should work with that one too, as well as my computer and any other bluetooth devices. 62 euros to get the basic version bought and shipped? Hmm...

The controller looks promising for games that were either ported from other platforms or were never designed specifically in mind for tablets; to that end they are a welcome addition. I do believe however that the best games on this platform are those designed with the uniqueness of touch-screens in mind, rather than trying to emulate other platforms.

I hear The Room for iPad 2+ is really good. It's a puzzler.

Apparently Jordan Mechner's The Last Express will be coming out on iOs very soon. I've heard a lot about the game and am curious to check it out.
