The big news in iOS gaming this week is
GBA4iOS, a GBA emulator which you don't even have to jailbreak your device to use.
Installation:
1. Set the date of your system back to before February 19, 2014
2. Go here: (
http://gba4iosapp.com/)
3. Download
4. Download roms from within the app
5. Play!
It's that simple. I just played a bit of SMB 3. Worked great. :D
LEGAL DISCLAIMER: You better own all of the games you download or you'll be going to the pokey!
So, anyone got any advice for GBA games I need to try out?

I was always partial to Wario Land (I think 4 is the GBA version)

If you like JRPGs, the Golden Sun games are pretty cool, as is Tactics Ogre.

There's several Castlevania games as well. Worth giving those a shot.
And Metroid Fusion.

Looking at my GBA collection, favourites include everything already mentioned plus:
Metroid Zero Mission
Advance Wars 1 + 2
Boktai 1 + 2 :erg:
Drill Dozer
Fire Emblem (+ Sacred Stones)
Mario + Luigi Superstar Saga
Mega Man Zero 2/3/4 (but skip #1, it has no continues!)
Ninja Five-0
The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap :erg:
Warioware :erg: + Warioware Twisted.
If the emulator has Gyro support, Twisted will probably be the best control scheme of the lot :)
EDIT: I've marked the above based on which games are not recommended for touchpad controls [] and which ones might be iffy [:erg:]

Megaman Zero 1 is brutal, but it's also the most atmospheric of the series.

I just remember beating my head against a wall until I took a break from the main game to farm energy and actually activate the Cyber Elves that are any use. That game scared me off the rest of the series until I finally picked up the Mega Man Zero collection recently and loved the rest of them.
It's a bit of a moot point, as these games would be utter hell to play with touchscreen controls. I'd hold off until you get an iOS gamepad. That said, I have no idea if those gamepads have much in the way of input lag; it might still be a problem :)
Also, since we're talking about GBA emulation for Tablets/Smartphones, I heartily recommend the (
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fastemulator.gba) My Boy! emulator for Android. Great performance and proper support for both Gyro controls and the Boktai solar sensor.

Thanks for the recs people, I won't play ANY OF THEM! :D
Because I got bored of that emulator 5 seconds after I had posted about it. SORRY! I'll get back to it, and your recommendations, if I ever get a proper iOS controller.
Anyway, here's what I've been playing lately.

It's not terribly deep, it's basically FTL minus the combat, but then I haven't gotten very far in it yet either. I like the exploration and resource-management and sense of isolation though. In mood and themes it actually feels closer to Waking Mars than FTL. Only had 5 or 6 failed attempts at making it back home to Earth yet, but so far I'm enjoying it.

I loved LBA2 to bits, but never played the first one. This updated version looks quite neat, and well adapted to touchscreen.
