5 count them. Actually don't because there's 6. But 5! Gosh.

The device's new size allows it to display an extra row of app icons on its home screen.
WOW! [/SARCASM]
Is it me or is the new Apple phone as dull as dishwater (again) and not nearly as tasty or fresh as the Microsoft / Nokia gizmo...
Has apple lost its mojo? To Steve Ballmer's Microsoft? Hell, even the MS sufrace tablet thingy looks promising.

I'll probably get one anyway. It'll be my first iPhone, but I'm very impressed and happy with my iPad and want to upgrade from my very basic mobile phone to a smartphone. I can definitely see why people who've got a 4S would be disappointed with this one, though.

Oh no, cell phone is boring! :p

No Thirith, compared to the 4S this thing will be amazing. Processing power is far superior and 4G (if the signal is good) will mean it's like having the phone on Wifi at home. The screen size actually makes it much, much more usable and the already awesome camera is even better.
It's also finally caught up to Android with its panoramic pictures, do not disturb function (how iOS didn't have this before belies something) and the Apple Maps application and navigation.
There is no doubt it will hold it's own against the latest Android offerings and Windows mobiles.
But, and here is the rub, it's not getting the gushing attention from Apple fanbois because because superficially it just looks like a longer 4/4S. Apple fanbois don't get technology, they just get huuuur its cool. I've seen it in real life in masses, yes masses, of my colleagues. When the 4 and 4S came out they would talk about the great new features and laugh at my Android phone. Ha ha, we've got iMessenger what have you got? Android had this Google Talk for years before iOS. The same thing is happening with the iPhone 5 - Apple gushers are mooting the things I've mentioned above as "amazing" even though everyone else has had them forever.
Apple themselves are full of twits. Look at this nonsense: (

NFC and wireless charging are lame guys, lame. Until the iPhone 6 gets them, then they will be "revolutionary".
Why am I so bothered about this? Because I think the existence of Apple is now a two headed beast that is holding the technology world back. One head is the fanbase that are so taken in by the cool factor that they are making what are good but flawed products really popular, the other is Apple itself that is feeding off that popularity and going with this stunted flow.

Uhh, don't you mean they were mooting them before, but are now touting them?

Are any phones cool now? Whenever I see someone on a train trying to unnecessarily get anyone else to notice whatever piece of kit they're brandishing I always think - wow, you're a dick. Doesn't matter what brand or OS it is.

Pffft. A proper dose of marketing hype will fix that opinion.

Yeah, call me an old fuddy-duddy (at your own risk, mind you), but I'm sticking with my little old fashioned flip top Samsung. I have a camera that takes better pics than the iPhones, a camcorder that takes better videos than the iPhones, and if I want to play video games, I'd rather do so at home on my PhenomII, which has better graphics & better user-friendly controls. I realize that eventually my type of cell phone will be discontinued, but til then, I'm not budging.
So there.:p :p
P.S. I guess it should be said that I really have no immediate business/personal need for the new type of phones, either. Just not a requirement for me.
