Doom is actually a rail shooter where you only control the crosshairs with the accelerometer and tap to shoot. Still wouldn't touch it though.

I must admit, I can't stand playing driving games on my iPhone.
Same here, except for (
http://www.enviro-bear.com/) Enviro-Bear 2010 of course!

That looks, uh, niche :)

Why is the iPod Touch $100 more than the iPhone? Just curious.
The games on this platform are becoming AMAZING. Why even fuck with a DS/PSP? I mean, you can buy awesome games for a measly dollar! Games that get updates, not just rolled out and forgotten.

iPhones and most other phones are subsidised by the network operator. They recoup what they 'lose' in your monthly fees and additional services.
I've been having a.... blast.... with (

Wait - since when did "updates" end up being the be and end all of a game? Have you played any DS games? They don't all need "updates". And besides, some of them do get extra content. I don't see the issue though.

Some info that I gleamed from Carmack's key note for Quakecon '09.
* Doom Classic will have its source code released, since it was written on the PRBoom engine.
* Also Doom and Wolfenstein Classic will the user map support patched into them. That's pretty cool.

Mmm, that does look tempting. There's even what looks like a very satisfying shotgun. Might have to pick that one up soon.

It is not an 'issue'. It is simply a BONUS. And no, not every game does need an update, I didn't mean that at all. I was simply saying that it seems that several of the games I am interested in happen to get additional content and/or patches. You have been taking things very literally, as of late and then going off on the poster. And yes, I have played (to completion) around 25 DS/DSi games, and 4-5 PSP games. Not including the various demos and games I didn't get to the end of. I regularly borrow my best friend's daughter's pink DS, and am considering purchasing a DSi.
