While I feel bad for the people who lost their job, it can't be anything but a good thing for gamers that the team isn't sticking together and churning out another game they don't care about simply because it'll pay the bills.

To be honest, I didn't enjoy seeing Bioshock take the RPG/FPS hybrid as a starting point and turn into a boring stock shooter. As far as I'm concerned, the only good thing that came out of it was the criminally underrated Minerva's Den that unfortunately went largely unnoticed by the larger public.
I don't know what he means by "narrative-driven games for the core gamer that are highly replayable", but it sounds like they'll be focusing more on the gameplay instead of crafting expensive theme park rides a la Bioshock Infinite, and that can only be a good thing.

All I read was. "Big boss is bored, many dozens of very talented people get laid off for no reason."
Fuck you Ken.

Sorry cuzzy bro but pretty much any Levelord map -- especially in Episode 3 -- is subpar compared to Allen Blum's.
You are right but it doesnt mean that levelords maps were bad per se. And it was a breath of fresh air at the time considering what was around.

More like we spent a fuckton of dollars on this and made no profit, but Ken you have a celebrity name amongst "core gamers" so we will keep you onboard for now and see what else you can do eh?

What the hell are 'core gamers' anyway?
PigLick on 19/2/2014 at 09:03
actually that description is pretty much spot on for me.

So pretty much "We couldn't call them 'soft core gamers' as that has certain other implications"
