I'm entirely baffled as to why this is even called Bioshock. There doesn't appear to be any real connection to the first two games (beyond a slightly steampunk design sensibility), and it's set 40 years prior. And is there any sort of 'biological science run amok' idea in this?
And the idea that some people built flying city in the early 1900s, but building a city on the bottom of the ocean in the late '50s was considered an impossible dream is just kind of silly (assuming this is meant to be set in the same universe as the other Bioshocks)
edit: And GG, Ken. You got your studio's name back, but you're still just going to be the fucking BioShock company, aren't you?

This would be much cooler if they had just licensed the flying party thing from Douglas Adams estate.

there are "over 4 million" reasons
I guess I shouldn't have been surprised, it's just that I somehow got info and speculation mixed up over the past week. I was so certain I had read that it was a fact that it was going to be a new IP.

Yeah, but that just makes it an even more cynical name recognition cash in than XCOM.
And after watching the trailer I'm guessing the girl is essentially the princess from the previous Prince of Persia, and will resurrect and otherwise save your ass every time you fuck up. Hooray for the continuance of pointless gameplay.

Well, that was disappointing.

I can't handle this anymore, I think irrational will work me into a long depression.

Also, note how the player will apparently have an Alyx-style sidekick ("Elizabeth") through most of the game.
Oh, hooray.

My girlfriend thinks she has the plot twist figured out just from watching the trailer: it's actually the kidnapped telekinetic girl who's keeping everything in the air.

Oh dear. :laff: It really is that transparent. :tsktsk:
[edit]The art direction does not look all that bad, though.
[edit2]You can apparently fry soaked opponents... with lightning.
