I know he is not working with the TLLG / 2K Games on Bioshock ... they hired the Rainbow 6 sound artist. So is he on this project? anybody knows? has this been asked b4??? (sorry :P)
As one of the center pillars of the Thief games, he must stay (or be emulated really well, and I can't imagine imitating his creativity).

Nope.
If he ends up working on
Thief 4, it will most likely be as a contracted consultant, but I'd guess he's pretty busy at Harmonix, with all that Guitar Hero, Rock Band stuff.:cheeky:
Eidos-Montréal is hiring for Sound Programmers right now, but that's not what Eric did.
Here's the team so far, if you hadn't seen the pic already. No one is recognizable from the Thief trilogy devs.

amateur impostors!!!
well i dunno they may come up with a kickass thief4 yet
right, i forgot he works on the guitar hero. man, what a change of pace! :P
how can he trade the coolness factor, though... oy vey
well they better come up with some awesome atmospheric sounds cuz that has been probably the most consistent element in the trilogy thus far (along with with voice actors). maybe they should hire bobby prince he he
but this i know - (

I realise people come and go, but not having Eric Brosius on the team is a major bummer. As long as someone of equal skill fills his place, all shall be right with the world. :thumb:
Oh, and no over-use of Heavy Metal guitar riffs.
Eric had a knack for creating awesome atmosphere, and for me, to get this right is as crucial a component as the gameplay.

And a major misstep, I fear. :(

A shame.
No Eric Brosius, and no Alex Brandon.
Hopefully they have a very good sound team.

Where has it been said that he is absolutely not working on it? He doesn't have to be in Montreal. He can work remotely. Would they really be composing music at this stage? When there are no levels to inspire the music?

I'm replying in the hopes that someone will save my day and tell me that yes, Eric is indeed working on Thief 4. Anyone? Anyone?
If not, this is a letdown and it decreases my enthusiasm for the next game. Sure, some other musician(s) might be a very welcome surprise and compose music as good as what we're used to, but I wouldn't bet on it.
Oh well, at least we have (
http://www.thief-thecircle.com/media/music/) three games' worth of material to enjoy forever. I listen to the Thief 1 - 3 soundtracks at work sometimes, and occasionally a colleague will walk past my desk with a confused look on his face and ask me, "What the heck are you listening to?" Yes, they think I'm weird but I don't care!
Geez...next thing you know, you guys are going to tell me that Stephen Russell won't be the voice of Garrett...

They have a different composer, but he comes off as a really competent guy. Thief was really innovative with its use of sound, and it sounds to me as though they're trying really hard to innovate again with Thiaf (I know he's implementing a generative music system). The audio is the least of my worries, personally.

There weren't any three years ago, no. At this point in time I think it's a pretty safe bet that they've got their missions more or less figured out, though.
