Hi to you all, I just registered my account.
I may be new in here, but I'm not new in Thief. I've been playing it since 2000.
If you wonder why I haven't registered here years ago, it's because I didn't
have Internet in my own computer. (Just got it like 2 weeks ago)
Right....
But to my question.
Is it normal that T3Ed sometimes lags on my computer?
My computer is:
- Windows Xp Home Edition SP2
- AMD Athlon 64 3000+
- 1 GB RAM
- ATI Radeon x8000 XL
- Creative Audigy 2 ZS
Normal game works pretty fine in all settings max, no multisampling and 1280x1024.
But in editor sometimes it lags like crazy even if all settings low/medium and 800x600.
I DO have John P's textures installed, but they're not installed to editor, right?
I just wondered if anyone has the same little problem.
Heh, I first played and finished TDS with computer like this:
- Windows 98 SE
- AMD Athlon 1 GHz
- 256 MB RAM
- Radeon 9600 Pro
Just imagine that 640x480, all settings minimum and still 10 fps. :laff:
I have made various little FMs for Thief 1 and 2, most of them are really small and full of bugs. I have one good FM though.
I have also made couple of "funny" songs using T1 and 2 samples, just to surprise my friends. (Yes, they are Thief fans too. :) )

I would love to hear the song stuff you created! The Dark samples are awesome. I myself have created a lot of atmosphere type records using them.
Good stuff.

Definately post your FM at (
www.thiefmissions.com).
It's easy to do, just look for the link on uploading a mission to the archive at the bottom and follow directions.
But you should really get it beta-tested first.
Go to *the Editors Guild* forum and ask for volunteers to betatest your mission first, and ask what to do there.
Only after that should you post it publically on thiefmissions.

Well I should make my website ready and then you could download them from there. Or something...
They aren't really top quality, though... :tsktsk:

My friends have already betatested that FM, and they thought it was allright. :) But yeah, maybe I should get more testers before releasing it. :erg: There could be bugs still. I mean there will be bugs. I am planning to make some TDS FMs too, I already have one, (my own house) but that's too small and freaky. We'll see more when I have some more time (and inspiration) to make 'em.

Welcome aboard taffer.:D Don't worry about "top quality." As long as the thing works. We are mighty proud of our little corner of the web and all the fantastic work that gets produced 'round here.
It's just that most folks look to thief missions for new missions. If you've gone to all the effort to make a mission you might as well put it up where the most folks will find it.

I just wanted to know...
...if you could edit your thread title into something meaningful?
Not wanting to sound grumpy, but that's right near the top of my personal list of forum peeves.
Start your time as a registered TTLG member with good habits, eh?
Welcome aboard! :)

I could do that, but there are two things that I need to know
1) How can I change it? (C'mon I'm new in here)
2) To what should I change it? Someone give me better thread name. :o
Answer please.

(1) No problem. See that "edit" button on your original post. Click it :)
(2) Well your "Is it normal that T3Ed sometimes lags on my computer?" seems a pretty good summary. Maybe with "Plus FMs and songs" added to cover the other stuff. Just something that gives us some idea of whether we actually want to read the thread, or if it's going to be irrelevant to us.
I don't think you can go too far wrong... it would be quite a challenge to come up with anything more vague than your original subject, after all :)

There, I hope that's better name. :cheeky:
Thanks.
