I have been trying without luck, finding Thief Gold for years now.
However I just saw that you can buy it and download directly both on Gamespot downloads and Eidos site.
The problem is that TDP and Gold are used at the same time so I have no idea if it is just ordinary TDP or Gold edition.
Has anybody bought from those sites or knows if it is Gold edition they are selling?

I bought Thief Gold for download from Eidos, it's definitely Thief Gold. That said it is rather pricey if you've already got Dark Project (I didn't mind so much since I had an accident with Dark Project CD and was utterly Thiefless). Frankly the extras arn't worth the extra unless you're mad or something.

If I may offer a counter argument, Thief Gold does add significant value to the Thief 1 experience as far as I am concerned. The new missions are large, there's fixes and additions (most small, one major) to the original missions, and it broadens the canon in directions that T2 & DS do not touch on.

What Digi said.

Third'd. Thief Gold is totally worth the extra money, but be wary of download versions, since you might not be able to use FMs with them.

You're all mad, especially Broken Arts.

They might be large, but except for one, they really aren't very good. An extra £15 for one decent mission and a couple of distinctly shoddy ones is pretty poor compared to the value one can find in the fan mission archive for free. Thief Gold is a novelty buy, not a necessity.

I think Thief Gold is definitely worth it, if you love the Thief series. Its up to you how much you want to spend. But I would think twice if the download version does not support fan missions. Then again you can play all Thief Gold fan missions with Dark Project with small a patch I believe.

What because I agreed with Digi? :p BTW, thanks for noticing I am mad, I know, add a bit of craziness, and a dash of whacked as well. ;) Do I care? No.

More Thief, more City, more Stephen Russell voice-overs, more playtime, more....
I had to have it. There will always be missions that aren't on the favorites list. It just depends on what it is you play Thief for.

Oh man, it's because I dropped the Mad Hatter title. Now you get to be more mad than I. Or can we be mad together? :D
