Is there anything from the Thief reboot you would like to see realized in DromEd? - by Ceamonks890

Hey guys. While I've posted the exact same thread in the 'Thief IV General Discussion' section, I was told that I was allowed to post it here too, for further discussion with actual designers of DromEd.
Anyway, after watching an entire walkthrough of the recently released mediocre reboot of Thief, it got me thinking about what good aspects(if any), could be implemented into fan missions in future, if some of the genius creators on here could get the setup working and make it functional for classic Garrett to have or use. Ex: the wire-cutter for deactivating traps, in-game shops to buy upgrades while in the middle of a mission/exploring or the crowbar for forcing open locked windows, to name but a few).
I know of course that no-one would want to have Focus Mode, third-person climbing or full-on action sequences in a fan mission. But was there anything during your playthroughs of the game or the viewing of the game in its entirety on YouTube that made you suddenly think, 'Man, I sure wish the real Garrett could have or do this!'
Anything at all?

If the copyright laws permit, we could still use Garrett's Voice-(Stephan Russell) from T1-T2-T3, so that would be cool. I understand Thief IV also uses rope arrows, so that is a plus. The editor is probably unreal2, or 3, not sure, and it is better than the original T3-Ed that came with TDS. That's a plus !
I am sure some of the Wizards could improve upon it here. Guess we will have to wait and see if the editor is offered, and what restrictions may be placed to make legal fan missions here.
It may be a while before we even know anything about this. It would be logical to assume that TTLG would create a new Thief IV editors guild similar to Thief III. It would be cool to use an editor like the Unreal2, or 3. Lightmapping is supposed to out do almost any other engine/editor.

There was a Thief reboot?

Just I finished it and I can say the city is extraordinary in this new Thief, and the sandbox style may be the future of single FMs. My almost ready mission has the same concept but of course in miniature. There is the main story and a couple of payer side jobs to find and accept in the city, which is not new in this game but rather ignored.

Um guys? What I meant was what aspects from the Thief reboot you all would want to see realized as a proper feature/function/capability in fan missions for the Thief 1/2 engine(DromEd) and NOT the possibility of fan missions in the Thief reboot engine(Unreal Engine 3). Sorry if anyone didn't get what I was trying to express:p

from what I've seen so far on youtube, keyhole peeking and trap disarming looked nice. the new lockpicking also seems interesting, but I doubt that would be doable.

OK, I laughed pretty hard at this.

What I learned from Thiaf is that teal and yellow are all the colors you need for any mission.

I for one intend to write a script to disable jumping except in very specific locations, and another to force players to hammer the E key to open doors and windows! I'll be joyous!

I'm not going to give the player rope arrows anymore. It's so annoying having to find the right spot on which to shoot them! Only placed ropes from now on.
