I'm totally agreeing with dethtoll on this one. I bought a laptop through my dad, $460. It's gonna take about a year or more to pay off even though I work full time. But I'm gonna be livin' on peanut butter and jelly sandwhiches until it's paid...yummy. :p Thank you food bank!

yeah, except doom3 actually runs BETTER because john carmack knows how to make a game engine. he just doesn't know how to make a game. i can run it in 1024x768 with midrange everything else and i have almost no slowdown, except when there's a lot of fireball smoke. i have to run thief3 in 800x600 just to maintain a halfway decent framerate.
of course, given about 3-4 years, thief 3 will run perfectly fine on PCs. problem is, unless you're lucky, thief 1 and 2 likely won't.

I wasn't whining, I was explaining to you (in reply to your condescending post) a reality you may not be familiar with in your great USA (that in some countries, wages are real low and it's most of the time greedy cheapskate multinational companies that pay the lowest salaries, far lower than they would have to pay in their countries). And since you are poor in America, where the wages are far better than in my country, where do you get off on ridiculing me for having no money? as it is, what i originally said wasn't meant to be condescending. it was merely trying to point out that your videocard is ancient and needs upgrading. YOU'RE the one who had to make it personal.
