If this was satire, it'd be dismissed on grounds of too much, too far, too tasteless, too dumb. I'm never quite sure whether to be amused, disgusted or just flummoxed when reality outstrips even the most out-there satire.

The anti-gun-control stance in the U.S. is run and funded mostly by gun manufacturers. If they could sell guns to fetuses, they would.

Eh, but still, I don't see any anti-gun legislation being effective. Here in this town you can buy machine guns, grenades, rockets, you name it if you know the right people......and in this town the "right people" (hint, a major organized crime network headquartered in Colorado) are very easy to spot.

Sometimes it's difficult to shake the impression that parts of the US are basically
Fallout.

Showing the inadequacy of the status quo isn't really a good argument against reform, IMO.
I mean I agree with your overall point, but I think there are better ways to make it.

It's the nature of the Internet to exaggerate cultural differences. Even in places like Texas it's fairly rare to see someone openly carrying a firearm. In much of the East a restaurant won't seat you if you're carrying. While gun ownership from a statistical perspective hasn't changed much in the past few decades, the culture around them is changing pretty heavily, and people are a lot less public about them than they used to be.
