Real ideas are OK, but just saying "Someone should make Planet of the Apes because Thief has apebeasts" isn't really an idea. Come up with some reasons on why it could be a good stealth mission, or why the Thief assets could create a believable POTA world, or something more to go on that what we got. In other words, put some thought into your posts.
Hey guys, someone should make a Forbidden Planet FM, because you know, Thief has Combat Bots. :p

I know you send this idea with a very good a intent and this is really friendly. :)
But I understand the responce from my fellows mappers.
You know, doing a mission spend time and efforts and many things may be planned.
We can do everything with DromED, you juts need to know where to find/how to create your ressources.
It's possible to create every kinds of missions from all kinds of movies but the question is: "Do we want to do that?" When a mapper is opening DromED, he knows what to do, he got ideas etc.
Don't worry, in many forums for different video games many persons got ideas and express it but most part of time do nothing and hope that someone else will do the work.
There are never offences but the most part of time it's very embarrassing to the mappers because we feel like receiving some kind of command that we don't want to perform because we got other ideas. Then we refuse or ignore and then it make a thread where people are dreaming of something that will never exist, like a kid saying to his parents "I want to be fireman!" not firemage :cheeky:, and this is a pity... :)
That's why many persons reply: "Do it by yourself instead of standing here dreaming!"
Even if someone can be interested and say "Why don't I thunk about it before?" but such reaction is pretty rare.:erg:
I'm surely one of the rare people who is not really fond of POTA even if I don't hate it, so I won't be such guy. So... You can hope that someone will do it but your chances are low... If you really want to have such a mission to play, the best will be to bring something here more detailed and concrete or to initiate yourself in custom ressources and/or mapping. :thumb:

i think starwars should wait till the next three films come out
star trek if done would have to be original show with kirk,spock/etc
some of the early pc games with star trek had great stories
although i saw the movie called the thirteenth floor and that would be cool to see a world where you can see the end of the world and be humbled
also after seeing that great skin made above,got me thinking a planet of the apes mod,to play all missions in a alternate universe type situation

I wish someone would make a mission out of Saving Private Ryan. That would be totally awesome!
You'd have to use stealth to avoid bullets on Omaha Beach. You'd have to move carefully to avoid mines in a minefield. You'd have to infiltrate Caen to learn the possible location of Pvt. Ryan. You'd have to sneak up to the ruined radar station and silently take out the guards, so your companions wouldn't be shot. And finally you'd have to use your arrows to take out a whole army of soldiers while defending a bridge.
This would make such an epic campaign for sure!

Yeah, World War Z would also be great! Garrett would be Brad Pitt, sneaking around zombies and creating plotholes. Thief has zombies, so it's a perfect fit!
And *insert another movie or work of fiction name* too! It has ideas that are surely conducive to the Thief engine!
