I have known this girl since I was 14, and we we best best best friends for years before we got together. She can read me like a book and I her. I would bet anything that this stays like she says.
I trust everyone. It's easier that way. -Barfly
I never expected internet land to get it, I just thought you'd accept my word for it. I am not the 'one guy you know whose ex reneged on a promise'. If I had one ounce of concern, I'd say it.

Hey, I don't believe Dia meant to hurt your feelings or try to predict things
will go this or that way. And I'm sure everyone here gets how blissful you are about having a new surprise-daughter, but you must admit that you have a situation in your hands that has certain ingredients to become nasty despite the initial and obvious cuteness of it (and you've already shown considerable irk against your own wife over it yourself, so there, and if you also show her that "Oh my ex is so great" -side of you in all it's glory, I'm certain it doesn't make adjusting any easier for her) - there are 2 parents involved, with 2 new spouses and a little girl in the middle while all of the adults have not-so-great history of getting along.
So if someone shows concern it doesn't mean they're being all albatross or wanting to make you feel bad about the whole thing just out of meanness.

Well said, Vas. I honestly didn't mean to come off all doomsayer and certainly didn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings. I honestly hope everything works out as well as it has been for you and and all concerned, gs.

Better safe than sorry, as they say, gunman.

I am not upset. I would bet anything that this never sees a courtroom. I don't care if it does, anyway. It's only money.
That said, I got a 'picture a year' yesterday from momma. Awesome.
And, Lena made me a little picture album when she was supposed to be in bed the other night. She sat up and put it together and wrote "I love you forever" on the cover. Also SHE HAS A RIFLE. I got a picture of her shooting her .22 @ the range when she was 5. Damn, she really is mine. *sniff* lol.

Maybe you could give her one of those Hello Kitty handguns for Christmas :D

That was pretty much my first thought :D

She's shot an AK-47 @ the range. Don't get me wrong, she'll never go anywhere NEAR my guns but that's still cool.
I think I am going to take her out to learn to shoot a bow. I have a new laser sighted crossbow I want to take out of the box for the first time, so maybe I'll get her a 30 lb. compound bow out of the closet and teach her bow safety and some fundamentals.

The ump needs to sweep that plate.
Life is going to be all kinds of busy and hair pulling now but heart melting too. I hope everyone adjusts as well as you and your daughter to this. She seems as if she were ready for you to show up. Her stepdad may resent the both of you now or pehaps just you with a lot of envy thrown in. Try to be calm and, when you can, choose tongue biting over harsh words for her sake. Hell, I envy you myself.
