It's looking very Gray... - by PolarBear

I've now set a password for you and emailed it to your PolarBear email account. I hope that works.

I've been away for so long I've forgotten how to quote properly, so please endure my noobiness.

"I was checking if that old pic of you and the fez-wearing balloon was somewhere around, but I can't find it anymore... "
Well I probably deleted the linked pic from my website, but GBM probably still has it for PhotoShop purposes, is he still around? I'll have a look around my HD, it might lurk somewhere. If not, there might be a much greyer Gray fez pic once I get that box from Sweden.

"I sent you a pm but didn't get a reply. I've sent a password reminder to your Gray email, an @home.se account. If you don't have that address any more then you'll need to give me one that does work that doesn't match any of your accounts. Alternatively, tell me which account you'd like to ditch first and I can transfer that email address to Gray."
Ah, unfortunately, the @home thingy was from a redirection company that has long since died, and I completely forgot about it. I'll PM you with a more suitable email address. As soon as I have two braincells to rub together. Which, if history is any guide, might be a while.

"Good to hear from you, Gray! I've wondered what you've been up to over these past years, and I'm glad to hear you didn't let crippling insomnia keep you from building an awesome life for yourself."
To quote Spike, "Duirt mé leat go raibh mé breoite" ;)

"look at you - a married man and a grandfather. Makes me feel old, because you were definitely younger than I, last time we met IRL. "
I just looked younger. I've always been a grumpy old bastard, cleverly hidden behind a mask of implausible youth. I sometimes still get carded when buying alcohol, even though I'm in my mid-40s. Not sure if I should be offended or flattered. My lame goatee beard still looks like shit, but I still insist on growing one. I blame laziness and a blatant disregard for fashion. Damn kids and their iPhones.

"You may not remember me, but I do remember you!"
How can I forget Lesser? Long time, no see. :)

"LF, Turtle and Stitch in da hizzy! Yes, you guys should stick around. Plenty of room in the hizzy!"
It hurts my brain when white middle-class people in cold, frozen Scandinavian countries hits tha dizzle fo shizzle. Bu', whazzup bro?
On the kilt front: certain photos have been approved for publication, I'll try to find one of the kilt, the cake and the wife, though probably not all in one. No combined fez/kilt photos exist. Yet.
Good to hear from you all.

Brain cells are obviously in better working order than anticipated. Pm received and I've replied and sent the password reset so hopefully you'll be back to your real self soon.

Grå \o/
Awesome to hear you're doing so well. I'm looking forward to seeing some sexy kilt action.

How is WoW these days? I haven't played any MMO in years, let alone WoW. Wildstar looks kind of interesting but given that I'm simultaneously studying for my PMI certifications and my level 1 CFA exam, getting into any online game would be an extremely bad idea.

Hey Gray! It's always good to see an old timer catch up. With some you don't know if they died or what. I wish more would update just for Olde Langsine (sp?). It's a period of our lives and though we may not have known each other well, if folks are as sentimental as me, we still care. That's why it's great to hear you are doing so well. You weren't exactly the picture of health. Alcohol always knocks me out eventually but you had a hell of a time. I'm sure I suggested something helpful like LSD at some point. Glad to see you played MMO instead.
I don't know why I never made it to Scotland when I was young and so close. I've regretted it ever since. My Dad did but then he went everywhere. These days I peruse magazines of ancient stones and rail trips to the countryside there and know it's a dream. The closest I'll get is Celticfest in Jackson and though the music is good and it's interesting to see folks beat each other with swords it's not the same. All my grandkids get my time and money these days and now you know why. Enjoy the day trips and explore. It's great to have a hand to hold when you do too eh?
It's great to hear from you. All you others lurking and not telling us how the illustration is going or the law career or the security installations or disk jocking or whatever just bite my ass. We must have been just a one night stand you snuck out on in the gray hours of morning leaving just tangled sheets and icky sticky to roll over on. The least you could do is get drunk and post something stupid every now and then. Proud buncha bitches.

Things are Gray indeed...
Many thanks to nickie who cleverly helped me restore Gray despite me not being online for weeks.
It's good to hear from all of you again, but I feel a bit disadvantaged here. What have you been up to for the last, oh, seven years?
And yes, kilt photos coming up. As soon as I can figure out a way how to do it nowadays. Yes, I'm very very old. And grumpy. And also, old.
D'Arcy on 14/1/2015 at 00:39
You were already old and grumpy back in the day. Nothing changed there :p

I love you, Gray. I'm sorry I didn't see this post until literally just now. Please know that there are many of your old friends who care about you and how you are doing. I'm sad things are hard, I'm happy things are satisfying, I'm angry that you haven't found the help you need, I'm overjoyed that you continue to soldier onward. I don't come around much anymore, but I think of you every once in a while.

Like Gingerbread Man, I didn't become aware of this thread until last night either (proof that I haven't been on here in awhile now). In fact I think this is the first time I've logged on here since Dec. 31st, 2010 (pretty weird that I can still remember my very first password for this site, all the way back from the year 2000, but have forgotten the succeeding passwords that have replaced it since then). Anyway, Gray, I just want to say hi, that I've missed you, and that I'm glad to see that you're still persevering.
