Um, which two things? Your post doesn't make sense. You're agreeing with me that Blizzard should take their time and make sure everything is okay before releasing the beta, which they've done, and you're holding that as something which has ruined the game for you?
I do agree that the needing to have a Battle.net connection to play a LAN game part is stupid, but I'm sure that it will be hacked within days of Starcraft 2's release anyway.
All game developers are obviously interested in money, but I would think refusing to release their games until they think they are good enough, as opposed to pandering to the masses and shipping the game as fast as possible knowing people will buy it, implies a lack of pure money hungriness A developer who's really only interested exclusively in money would only make the game good enough to be sellable and stop there, they wouldn't try to make it as good as they can.

Yes but releasing them in an Episodic format ensures that they can charge more per episode. I wouldn't be suprised if each of the Starcraft 2 campaigns costs full game price(around $100AU)

But I never mentioned the episodic content? I don't have a real problem with that if it means getting a campaign three times as long.

What is the likelihood of that, though? Remember, Blizzard are money-hungry, and not just because of the LAN thing or the episodic thing. They've been money-hungry ever since WoW took off.

They say SP will be as long as 3 separate campaigns put together. MP will be MP.
What else is there? So you don't get to play zerg in SP right away, so what?
This way SCII gets one more xpack than SC, that's hardly outrageous.

That's probably my main concern right there. I can put up with buying 3 campaigns as long as they're each priced reasonably. Now assuming each one will have higher than usual production standards than most regular expansion, I'll say I'd be willing to shell out...say...25-30 bucks per (or full price for the first, and 20 for the later editions). Either way, you'll be paying about 90 bucks for the true and complete SC2 experience. Now this might seem outrageous at first, but if what they say is true, that each episode-or-whatever is worthy of a full game in and of itself, it won't be too,
too hard to stomach at that price.
My hopes are A. they don't charge a full 50 for each, and B. that the campaigns are interesting and varied enough to warrant playing an SC1 length game as one race. If either ones of these aren't the case, I'll be hitting it up when it goes to the bargain bins or gets a discount on Steam.

$30 per episode? Considering that this is Activision calling the shots, and they sold MW2 for $60 when it's, at most, a 5 hour experience? I wouldn't hold my breath, Renz.

Yeah, I'm almost sure it's wishful thinking on my part. Still got the hope, though. I'm just gonna wait and see how it goes.

Nah, the digitally distributed version will highly likely be exclusive to the Blizzard Store/Battlenet 2.0, so it'll probably be years before there's a price drop outside of brick and mortar stores.

yeah, diablo2 is still very expensive at their site. you can get it for far less in retail. sweet thing is though that you can then use your cd-key to download the game from battle.net which I did with my old copies.
