What exactly is the point of preloading? The digital download version doesn't become available until 10:00 anyway. If you want to get it as soon as possible, you'll be faster to head to a shop early and buy a physical copy.
Me, I reckon since they'll probably be about the same price anyway, I'd like a boxed version.
I'm fairly sure you could use your storebought key with the digital download prerelease. So if you want to get into Starcraft 2 as fast as possible, you can just download it now, install it, then buy the game and have it ready to roll as soon as you get home.
But only dorks who land posts at the top of a new page would do something stupid like that.
edit: (
http://users.chartertn.net/greymatt/sc2.jpg) Or maybe not. Still, the downloaded installer will slap on your comp alot faster than installing it from a disc...provided they both use interchangeable keys, anyway.

Yeah, but... installing a game from a disc takes maybe 5-10 minutes? Plus, it doesn't eat into my 170GB/month download usage "fair use policy" limit.

Now, usually I would answer "'coz I live in Mexico..." to your argument of buying it physical, but that won't cut it'coz some mexican cities will recieve it, so instead, I'll bullet-point my specific reasons in this case:
* Cheaper for me to buy, even with the peso-dollar exchange rates, if I buy it digital, like buying it in the US. So instead of being assraped by a $80 dollar price tag, I pay a fairer $49, even with exchange I'd still get a rise to $60, and I'm cool with that.
* The city I currently am in will not be recieving StarCraft 2 (Culiacan, Sinaloa).
* If I buy it in Mexico, or most Latin American countries, I will get it in Spanish. F-that, I love my English voice actors. So digital download allows me to choose region.
* I've become quite enamored with buying digital over physical, as far as PC is concerned, because of the reasons stated above, even with the downsides of it, I don't mind.
* Mexico (ololol....I said I wouldn't use this reason, mea culpa) isn't really that deep into PC gaming for the costs of maintaning the habit, save for the large metropolitan areas (which Culiacan -isn't- one of'em). And there aren't any hardcore PC gaming stores, probably in Mexico City, alas, I don't live there (even local distributors will still bring it over at high prices, so f-them).
Need I go on, lad?

Just be sure you're actually getting a US version from the digital download, then. If your Battle.Net region is Mexico, you may just end up with the a Mexican-localised version anyway.
Quote:
Game activation keys, game licenses, and game clients are all region-specific. As noted above, if your game license and installed game client regions don't match, you won't be able to login.
If the country associated with your Battle.net account (viewable in Battle.net Account Management: (
https://www.battle.net/account)) is accurate, you should be directed to the correct regional download when visiting this page: (
http://beta-us.battle.net/en/info/digital-purchase)
If you have already purchased a physical copy of StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty, but still wish to download early, you will need to make sure that the regional download matches the region for the physical game you purchased.

Price is a reasonable point. Considering that, here in Ireland, Steam generally charges significantly
more than retail for new games (as opposed to Steam specials), buying new games online generally seems stupid to me. Of course, SC2 won't be on Steam.
I'm generally depressed whenever I go into a gaming shop and they have a tiny shelf of PC games tucked in a corner somewhere, but even HMV have some and would certainly have something as major as SC2.

Did we seriously need a new character ("Prince Valerian" or whatever his name is) who looks like he's straight out of your
Warcraft franchise, Blizzard?
And would it really have been that hard to get the original voice actors for Jim Raynor and Kerrigan?
*grumble*

Yup, I specifically chose my version to be US, it even gave me a region change warning ("this isn't your region, blahblahblah"), so it's all cool.
Well, buying retail here is -insanely- expensive, so, online for me, plz!

That
is the original actor for Raynor. Apparently they didn't want the original actress for Kerrigan. I can't imagine why. I'm not fond of Tricia Helfer's acting in that trailer.

Considering that I found her to be the most infuriating character in Battlestar Galactica (mainly because her entire imaginary character reminded me of all the things I hated about BSG) really doesn't fill be with optimism.

Hm, weird. He sounds completely different to me. I suppose a guy's voice can change quite a bit in 12 years though.
Whoever they are, both he and Kerrigan sound rather dull and bored in that trailer compared to how their characters sound in the original game.
Koki on 25/7/2010 at 06:37
Raynor sounds really bad. He changed from this youg sligthtly cocky-ish chilling out freedom fighter into middle-aged balding fat guy and his voice is still the same. Ugh.

Imagine what happens when ten million people suddenly all start downloading the same file.
