When you played on Casual? Is this a joke?
Koki on 15/8/2010 at 06:16
Oh right, there actually IS a difficulty setting named Casual in the game.
I played on Normal. Everything else is just Eldron being butthurt and me rolling with it.

I probably am, but the question is, what are you doing in this thread?, you're clearly not into starcraft, and you're clearly unconditionally hating the game. That and you most likely didn't even buy it.
There's not ever going to be a normal discussion with you about starcraft2, what will you get out of this?
Koki on 15/8/2010 at 08:38
What the hell?
This is a forum where people discuss videogames. I discuss a videogame in a thread about it. Really not rocket science here. Unconditionally hating? I admit I had serious doubts about Starcraft 2 because I knew it will look cartoony long before the release but I still expected a solid story and a lot of polish because Blizzard is well known for both. Then there was a global resource, research nad picking your own missions which was supposed to change the campaign a bit, and of course having a fire base in the form of Hyperion.
Needless to say it was quite a disappointment: the story and characters were a joke, global resource doesn't matter at all since you get pretty much same amount for every mission you take(seriously, why raiding a mining planet nets me same amount of cash as saving some colonists? Where does this money come from? It's just stupidly implemented form of XP I guess), same thing with research. Order in which you take missions doesn't matter at all(colonists under attack by horrible monsters? Well they'll wait till I get this shiny rock!), and the two choices the game gives you - the doctor chick and Tosh - result in ultimate form of player hand-holding, where the story changes slightly depending on the choice to always make player's choice the good one.
The missions themselves are almost all stupid gimmicks, the thing you occassionally throw in the campaign as something different from just obliterating enemy bases. Well the entire SC2 campaign is "different". Combined with the fact you can pick your missions this means there is no sense of purpose or pressure to anything and the story just breaks apart. What am I doing? Why? I don't know, I'm just clicking these round things on the Star Map and then race pirates to gather 8000 minerals. Fact is, I was more involved in campaign in Total Annihilation. I'm fighting a war! I'm destroying enemy forward bases! And supply bases! Look, I took a world and then captured a Galactic Gate to reach the next one!
What am I doing in SC2? Just... wandering around the sector doing random jobs because of... something. I dunno. Trying to take down Mengsk I guess? (by the way, good job turning what was interesting character in Starcraft into archetypical bad power-hungry dictator. Not surprising though, after WoW rolled out Blizzard started ruining backstories in all their franchises) One protoss artifact at a time? Oh look, trains. Let's get'em!
And Hyperion? It's just fancy briefing screen with a long load time. It seriously adds nothing to the game. Could as well make it talking heads all SC-like with Cantina, Armory and Lab just differently looking menus.
Finally, yeah, I didn't buy the game. Of course this changes absolutely nothing(other than the fact I didn't waste my money) but if it gives you a good excuse to stop posting, knock yourself out with your moral high ground.

I did... and I wish I hadn't. I have just about as many gripes with the game as you. At least I can use the box as a fancy coffee tray.

Nothing to do with piracy or anything, I was just saying you're missing out on all the multiplayer mathces, versus AI matches, custom maps, just because you didn't like the way they made the campaign work.
considering the regular melee matches are exactly like the old starcraft, but way more refined.

Cartoony is way over on the other end of the spectrum.

Are you bent on making english the most difficult language possible?

fuck, I got a word wrong, I'll let it stay to remind others of my loss here today.
I'll add to that; I even failed all my classes in my own native tongue.
