I'll add to that; I even failed all my classes in my own native tongue.
So you wouldn't make for a good Viking?

I'm pretty sure my ancestral vikings were in all cases uneducated.

Eld, please don't use those hideously garish over-bloomed early screenshots as examples of Starcraft 2.

True, not that it matters much anymore though.
okay, moving the discussion forward; the data editor in sc2 is just way too much, it drives me insane. Has anyone here wrapped their head around it properly?

So me and my friends used to make our own custom maps in StarDraft and pass them around on a LAN. Could we still do that using SC2 without having to upload our maps to battle.net as long as we don't use them online?

I don't have the game, but I'm sure the answer is a big fat NO. You have to publish any maps you create on Battle.Net.

No.
To quote myself (which is maybe a bit egotistical) from my Battle.net feedback post:
Quote:
6. Playing custom mapsBring back the old SC1 / WC3 method of playing custom maps. When a player hosts a game, give them a choice to browse for the map file of their choice on their local hard disk, rather than only allowing published maps to be played. Let other players download the map from the host if they don't have it, just as before. Being unable to play your own custom maps (except through the editor) without uploading them makes no sense and seriously cripples the mapmaking community.
7. Change EULAChange the clause in the EULA that gives Blizzard complete ownership and permission to do whatever they want with users' maps. I would personally never create a map under that EULA. Mapmakers want to be in control of what they make and be given credit where it's due - no one likes the idea of their hard work being completely owned and controlled by someone else. Most editors have a more reasonable EULA declaring that the maps can only be used with legal versions of the game and cannot be sold for profit - go back to something like this.
Blizzard have said before that they want people to be making maps and mods for Starcraft 2 instead of other games - of course they do, if they have complete ownership and all rights to them - but having no claim of authorship or ownership of something that you spent a lot of time creating is a strong motivation against modders wanting to work with the game. Alienating the mapmaking community is not a good way to encourage them to mod for your game over someone else's.
Not only that, but the EULA also gives Blizzard complete ownership of anything that players say in the in-game chat, meaning that private conversations between friends are completely owned by Blizzard. A serious breach of privacy, and a strong disincentive to talk to people using the in-game chat features.
8. Stop censorship of maps on Battle.netCensorship of maps just infringes on the free speech of mapmakers and serves to further alienate them. Censoring words that are used in the main Blizzard campaign is even more ridiculous.

Not only do you need to publish the maps to Blizzard, but if I recall correctly, you're limited to 20mb or 4 maps, whichever comes first.
I was tempted to get SC2, but the new Battle.net killed any interest I had in the online component.

Yeah, it's a trainwreck.
Technically, it's 5 maps, a maximum of 10mb per map, and a maximum of 20mb per account. And the maps can only be published in your region. And Blizzard completely own them and can do whatever they like with them without your say-so. It's a joke.
