seeing as all the races in SC have parallels to warhammer 40K (terrans are space marines (right down to the similar-looking armour), zerg are tyranids, and protoss are just really gay eldar, like eldar weren't gay enough) i'd play starcraft if it introduced a parallel to what is stylistically my favourite WH40K race ever: (

...and as electric wizard's "saturn's children" begins to rattle the plaster off the wall just as i type this my faith in all things sabbathcore is reaffirmed.

If you didn`t like the original Starcraft or Warcraft 3, then you`ll definately not like it. Sequels are generally there for those who loved the games before and are dying for more.
That rule of sequal making only applies to games I dont like to begin with. Every sequal made for games I've liked have been crap on a stick.

Who says the Xel'Naga aren't going to be in Starcraft 2? You think Blizzard would lay all their cards down at once.

It has been announced that these [Protoss, Terran, Zerg] will be the only races in the game.
Must find SC CDs...

The only PLAYABLE races! After the events of Broodwar and Samir Durans strange experiments, I'm sure we will see some Xel'Naga or Hybrids. ;)

Meh, was hoping for diablo 3. But that'd just cut into their cash cow mmorpg.
Shame really...

I can't tell much detail from the vids, but I love the way the zerg look. They definitely captured a very organic, creepy crawling feel to them, which I was worried about in the transition from animated sprites to 3d.

Hmm, right now I'm a bit reminded of Sands of Time --> Warrior Within. I hope they won't overdo the cheese. That said, what I've seen of the Zerg so far I like.

Personally I don't really understand why people rag on SC for "ripping off" Warhammer.
I started to play DoW and I wasn't that impressed to tell you the truth. Yeah, the graphics and special effects were way better (as they should be), and the gameplay was new and kind of interesting (and it did have a kick-ass intro cinematic), but the characters were completely uninteresting and the storyline was just plain BORING. If a game doesn't have an engaging plot I will ALWAYS loose interest (I never did finish the game).
Yeah, sure, Warhammer may be more original, but SC has a superior story and presentation. That will always make it "better" in my estimation.
