Very few British people spell it Thom, just in case you thought it was common over here. More common, perhaps, but it still calls attention to itself.
It looks like a relatively common spelling in the US, as it happens - if you google "thom" there are tons of em, famous or otherwise. I don't think it would be too much of a problem, and besides I was hoping to make the silent "h" a plot, maybe. I like the idea of writing something about how language works (or doesn't work) - on a very basic level of course.

I've been having problems staying asleep - I can fall asleep with no problem, but i wake up after 4 hours and cant get back to sleep. I was just precribed Zolpidem 10mg (generic Ambien) for this problem, and instructed to take 1/2 to 1 per night. The first night I took 1/2, and though completely exhausted, i couldnt get to sleep at all! I finally took the 2nd half and got 6 hours of sleep. Last night, I took the entire 10mg to begin with, and once again, I couldnt get to sleep for hours. After reading other reviews and my own experience, I'm scared to try again.

I have horrible problems getting to sleep and getting enough sleep. About a year ago I fell asleep while driving at 65 M.P.H. on the freeway and got into an accident. If I'd been really lucky, I wouldn't have fallen asleep at the wheel (and wouldn't have insomnia and such) to begin with. But given that I had to have an accident, I got rather lucky; my automobile passed right between two trees. A foot and a half on one side, six inches on the other (tore off the mirror in fact). I must have been going fifty still at least when I went between them. Ugh. Insomnia bites.
