I've been looking into getting Theif 3: Deadly Shadows, but I don't know if my computer can play it or not, I've read on IGN that my compuer is exactly the recommended requirements, but most of the time I get a game because of that, and it turns out my computer in almost MINIMUM...
Pentium 4 2.6Ghz
512 MB RAM
GeForce FX 5600
Can it run Theif 3 well?
Thanks.

It will run no doubt about that. It might be laggy due to lack of RAM but you've got a 2Ghz CPU so it should be ok.
It runs fine on mine and that's a 1.2 Ghz, 1GB RAM and 256 MB GeForce 5500FX.

Thief 3 actually doesn't use a lot of ram. 512 should be enough. Of course, Thief 3 doesn't run well on most computers, so don't expect flawless performance.

Ugghh... Is it optimized like DX: IW? If so, then screw it..

you're better off boosting your PC a little more. it's not unplayable, but it does chug in a few random spots.

Does it matter though, if the framerate is a little stuttery? I spent most of the time watching and waiting in the shadows to form a good strategy around patrols. Actually with Thief 3, it was more like "run past and throw down one of 20 flashbombs," but theoretically that's how I would have played.

Thief 3 will run fine on your system. I have a 1.6ghz processor, 1 gig of ram, and a Geforce FX 5200...yup, pretty humble card. At any rate, I can play the game with few issues.
The engine is optimized better than Deus Ex 2, so no worries.

I played Thief 3 on a P4 2.0 GHz with 512 MB RAM and an ATI RADEON 9600XT, and it ran fine.

However I am getting worse framerate in Thief 3 than in DXIW at the same resolution and with hi-res texture packs installed. I presume the physics procesison in T3 consumes more CPU power.
(Here AMD3000+, 1024RAM, 6600GT 128 DDR3).

The AI would be doing more than Deus Ex I assume, plus you also have to take lightgem detection into account, that's a hit. Not sure if Deus Ex shared the same sound prob, but that would likely make a difference too. It all adds up.
