Here's (
http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/01/04/hands-on-jagged-alliance-back-in-action/) a more recent preview.
I was thinking about making a thread about this too. I
am looking forward to this. A lot of people are pissed off that it won't be turn-based but rather have a Freedom Force-style "pausable real-time" approach, but I rather like that idea. I'm guessing it'll be a bit like Frozen Synapse, where you plan your moves, then hit play and watch it unfold.
I'll hold out of reviews and impressions before I buy though. Let us know what you think of it when it's released faetal! :)

I'm sure it'll be ok. They'll play test it for sure.
I was always pretty crestfallen that there was never a Silent Storm sequel (proper, not Sentinels or H&S) as I thought that was an amazing game, if flawed by bugs.

Hmmm, that RPS article has triggered a small amount of buyer's remorse. I can deal with a lot of the changes, but what he says about fog of war seems startling. Also, if you can see everyone from the start, what's the point of the extended ear kit?
I are perplex.

How about you reserve your judgement for until you've actually played the game for yourself?

Yeah, I will - obviously. I have pre-ordered it after all. This is an anticipation thread. I'm not claiming pre-cognition, just speculating.
I'm kind of surprised I have to say this really.

The fog of war
may have been re-added since that preview was written.

Fingers crossed then. I can't imagine what they thought that would have added to the game. Not knowing where the enemies were was a HUGE part of the suspense of the original.

You're right.
Gentlemen, time to delete the Thief4 forums.
