Well Kickstarter is a good idea on paper, but as all things used by a man, you can't predict for what will it actually be used for. And companies want to get their hands on everything. Because of publishers, Obsidian always had to cut their own games from good ideas, leaving them half implemented.
I loved the 2nd Jagged Alliance, played the Reloaded (and hated it) and now I'm counting on Flashback. Let's hope it will be a good reboot for the series, just like xcom was.
Thx for showing it, never heard about it till today.

The Veronica Mars movie KS campaign has already set a precedent for fools giving money hand over fist to fund a big studio project (Warner Bros). True, bitComposer are hardly competition for the Activision's of the world, but it's in the same frigging wheel house.

I'm all in favour of established devs using KS to bypass a publisher, but doing it in league with one goes too far IMO. Still, I'm torn on what to do about kicking it or not, since either way, the publisher will get my money if the game is good, meaning whether I do or don't support it on KS becomes an issue of whether I want any of the rewards and whether or not there's a chance it won't go ahead if it fails on KS.
