Of course I see the similarity.

Just got back from the cinema. Obviously it was insanely good looking, but beyond that I really didn't think it had that much to bring to the table. It felt totally like painting by numbers to me, and I was a bit distracted by how false the world felt through the early introductory scenes. The amount of forced LOOK AT THE ALIENS moments that were thrown together, culminating into the reveal of the true ultra scary alien monster (seen that a couple of times before) was a real let down. Luckily the scenes that followed did a much better job of developing the world.
Although the indian influences were clear to see, I honestly felt that they were more similar to Africans than Indians. As far as the racism goes, the scene that really stuck in my mind in that respect was the scene where the navi decided to ignore jake, with the climactic shots being them ignoring the whiteman and devolving into a screaming mob.

UNOBTAINIUM.
Its like...you want to OBTAIN it, but you are UNABLE to do so.
I want what James Cameron is smoking please.

I stand by my opinion.
It's a stupid name to base an entire movie/trilogy around.

Its not a name, its a concept. I understand where you are coming from because it sounds lame, like impossibletogetholdoffium or whatever, but if you take the time to think about it its quite clever - its just a deus ex machina and instead of saying Home Tree is on GOLD or some crap they just put it out on a plate for you.
EAT IT!!

If I can convince a couple of buddies to tag along so we can share the travel costs, I'm going to travel 220km by hopping between short-ranged regional trains (should take maybe 4 hours in one direction) so I can see it again. In IMAX, biatch!
