I like how the guy on the right is so intent on getting that TPS report done before he dies. In the US they would have pissed themselves and been on the phones suing for disability due to PTSD before the last tremor subsided. Which they would get while those with broken necks would be unable to because they were unable to sign the correct forms.

I wrote a report on Fukushima 1 Year Later, mostly about how the government and nuclear industry have been muffing up the entire management and leaving some 100K victims & displaced people in the lurch, with conflicts of interest everywhere & laughably inflexible mechanisms. Still no idea why this is 7 on the INES. If this is 7 Chernobyl would need to be something like 20.

It's not like an earthquake scale. It's for management purposes. A 7 basically means, ok, everybody out, this 20km radius is now closed off to habitation for the next century and we have to decontaminate a few 100 square km. But there's no doubt Chernobyl was way worse than this, not that that's helping a million or so Fukushima evacuees get their lives back together.

Riskbased and widescale are both real words (I'd put a hyphen in the first one though.) The rest is dema's fat fingers ;)

They're either contributions by native Japanese research assistants that I didn't catch, for whom English also sometimes presents a challenge to put it mildly, or me just typing fast. We have to kick these things out. They'll get fixed before publication though; I said this wasn't the final draft. But thanks for catching some of them for me.
Edit: Ministory is a cute Japanism, like it sounds. Riskbased, evcacuation, and japanischem, yeah, are all in direct quotes or titles, so maybe I should put sic there like you're suggesting. You don't want to be changing direct quotes and titles. Claiments and widescale are the two legitimate things where I was typing faster than I was thinking.
