Erm, it's not about impressing her and not just because as mentioned in my previous post, it's already going rather well anyway. It won't matter at all whether she ends up liking SW or not - it's not like she'll say "You showed me this horrible movie and wasted 2 hours of my life? Go pound sand, you filthy sci-fi-loving neanderthal!" or "Oh wow, that was such a great movie, please take me now!!!!!!!".
I just want to make sure that if she doesn't like it, it won't be because I started with the wrong one. I'm pretty certain she'll like the original trilogy at least (and that's what I was leaning towards myself), but you never know. And given my vast experience with the ladies and specifically what they like and don't, I thought I'd ask here just in case.
And you have to remember she's from Russia - maybe SW wasn't that big there until fairly recently, what with them being dirty commies and disliking anything US-ian, so maybe she just didn't have any geek friends who were big enough fans to get her interested as well. SW certainly wasn't THAT big in Bulgaria at least, probably until the prequels came out, seeing that we were dirty commies too. :p
So yeah, while tongue-in-cheekness IS par for the course on TTLG, it was also a serious question and the discussion has been going on pretty well so far too.
And Thirith, of all the Russian girls I know, there isn't one that's anywhere near as empty-headed and spoiled as you are describing, so obviously I'm right and you are wrong!*
* - I know about... 1 Russian girl including the one we are talking about, so there!

Regardless of the outcome, I have to say I'm rather impressed by the care you're showing.

But why are you not skipping the movies and introducing her to Thief and System Shock, then she could spend all her free time on the pc and ... yeah, never mind, stick with the movies.

People that live overseas as expats, Russian girls included, are always more interesting on the whole. It's a cute accent for girls too, and the way they use English is kind of cute... Maybe it's similar for German?

Either way, congrats. Russian girls are awesome. The Beatles said so.

Too grim and serious for some, although that may lead to some "It's the end of the world and I need to be cuddled" results. With
Firefly there's always the risk of cuddles where you know exactly that she's thinking about Nathan Fillion.
@Kolya: The Beatles also said "Coo coo ca choo!", and one of them got together with Yoko Ono, so I'm not sure they're an authority on girls'n'everything.

ok, so I asked A Girl for advice on this matter, and she said the correct order is Addams Family, then Addams Family Values. I have to say I agree.
