Whaddya mean if?!?!?!
Mostly with thief I think less is more. Arrow combos and choking moss are good - they let you do more with less. Oil flasks are feature creep - it's just another thing to scroll past in your inventory.

You know what's dumb? Even using the expression "arrow combos". Makes TDS sound like a button-mashing fighting game.
FIVE-ARROW MEGA COMBO BONUS!
SUPER RAGE STEALTH ATTACK UNLOCKED!!

You're my new hero ZB. I haven't laughed that hard in a long long long time.

Ya know, making moss grow with water arrows - that sorta stuff.

You're not going to find oil flasks or 'chokity choke' moss arrows, in The Dark Mod toolset. Too cheesey.
I personally don't see how the oil flasks and choking moss arrows are too cheesey and noise arrows, holy water arrows, slow-fall, speed potions etc. are not. Is it objective attitude to TDS items?
Oil flask for instance gave me so much fun that it's easily my favourite toy in the game. Besides one can kill AIs or make them unconcious with it, the oil also is flammable. And moss arrow can be used like some alternative for a flash bomb (note that it wasn't described in the game, you had to discover that yourself - nice touch).
"Combos" are also good and natural thing, f.e. if you want to jump down from high surface you can shoot a moss arrow at the ground and then add a water arrow, the moss will raise further and become softer. Or it's useful when you have only one moss arrow and lots of water ones, and you want to cover larger area on the loud floor. What's wrong with that, besides the aggravating (for some people) fact that it's implemented in TDS? If it's too cheesey, then most of the Thief1/2 items are cheesey in the same degree. Anyway, I'm not going to argue further.

Looks like you answered your own question.

Calm down and breathe, for goodness sake. :D I didn't say anything about combos being cheesey. I like them.
However, slipping around foolishly on oil or choking on moss takes things into the realm of slapstick. Maybe it belonged in TDS since the game took a lighter, more cartoonish approach, but it doesn't belong in TDM. The tone we have taken is slightly darker...THAT'S why those two items in particular won't exist as they did in TDS.

I forgot to add quotes. Well, favourite weapon, because I didn't use other ways to bj or kill when I played TDS to make it harder. And you can't have more than 5 oild flasks, + they don't always work, sometimes AIs don't kill themselves when they fall down the stairs or hit metal railings. I guess it was programmed specifically.
New Horizon, it may seem cheesy because of reaction of AIs (comical voice-acting?)
If the voice acting was natural, it would seem much more serious.

So basically you're saying that TDS is
Batman & Robin to TDM's
Batman Begins?

:laff: I would never say it until we're finished, but may we be so lucky.
