Does everybody smash the Vandenberg roof glass and drop to crossbeams at start like me or what? How common is this practise?

I've done it a few times, but I usually prefer to go down the stairs or round the back. :)

I tried that once, but most of the times I try not to announce myself this clearly. The next time I came in the sneaky way.

No one detected me; I dropped a scramble grenade onto a small bot from roof first and he eliminated some guards!

I did like dropping through the celing--it's so Batman.
Another fun thing to do right after dropping through is to go into the corridor with the 2 commandos and the MIB. Crouch behind the TNT cart and walk toward them, pushing the cart.
"Don't mind me, I'm just a self-propelled cart with explosives on it. There's nobody behind me...I'm just a harmless cart..." They never notice it coming. <IMG SRC="devil.gif" border="0">
Get the cart close, then back away, still crouched. Your enemies won't notice you until you're a ways back. When they finally see you, just shoot the TNT crate--the blast will usually take all 3 out.

i drop the tnt off the walkway above the group. i remember my first time playing...
i came out of the elevator, and observed my surroundings. hmm, two mj12, one mib, i thought. i was about to pull out my silenced assault rifle when i saw the tnt. and giant smile crept across my face. they set these things up so perfectly, i thought. grabbing the tnt, i crouched over to the walkway, popped out, yelled "hey!" (i imagined they heard me), and dropped the box of doom. alerted guard fighting ensued, but it was worth it.
i never really tried that window thing, sounds cool. maybe i'll put slomo on and jump down, after spawning a few mj12, and assault rifle into the group. that'd be cool.

I personally like to use those two TNT crates to take out the small bots that patrol in front of the door. Lugging them to the roof is a pain, but dropping them on the metal imbeciles is fun. <IMG SRC="devil.gif" border="0">
