Somebody help me here, please.
I climbed onto the windowsill in the bedroom of the Chulentzes, crouched, and carefully placed the high-powered fan so that the blades pointed out the window and the back of the machine pointed into the bedroom. Nothing happened.
I tried turning the fan around the other way, but still nothing. I couldn't see anything to frob, and in any case, the fan isn't like a key... it just flies through the air when I use the right mouse button. So I have no idea how or where exactly to place it, and I don't understand why putting it where I did, pointed the direction it was, isn't triggering the objective.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks,
Dafydd

Fantastic '1st FM' :thumb: I believe that this is the most roof-top, above-ground oriented FM I've seen yet. Looking forward to part 2. :)
And thank-you so much for not making "return to starting place" an objective. :D

This is a extremely fun FM. Thanks Bassmanret.

Thanks dreamer and DreamWalker (hmmm, any relation to Nightwalker... :) )!! I'm glad you liked it.
Daffydd, dreamer beat me in answering your question.
BTW, Part 2 is already underway, and is shaping up nicely so far. Since I've already laid out all maps, and know exactly what's going where (objectives, readables, AI, etc..), and since I'm mostly past the 'Dromed learning curve', Part 2 shouldn't take anywhere NEAR as long as part 1.

Builder be praised refreshingly puzzling, not many doors to open but other ways to enter.
I did like the jump from the warehouse to the water tower, the short swim and hey presto 2 gold coins.
Very nice mission indeed, can't wait for the sequill. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

We're twins ... only I was born exactly 2 months before she was ... she is much better looking as you can attest from "Fletcher's Last Mistake." ... but Thief III was created especially for me. ;) :cheeky:

All right, thanks to Dreamer, I finally fulfilled the smelly objective. (One thing that irritated me, however, is that when I put the fan down on the dressing table, no matter how quietly I tried, it always woke up the Chulentzes -- and they immediately commenced searching. So unless there is a hidden moss arrow somewhere that I just missed finding, the game is unghostable if you read the diary and gain that objective. That's really aggravating.)
Now I just need more loot. But I need a lot more -- I'm 820 short of graduating.
The area behind the bar in the bordello is tantalizing. There is a tiny light there, and I can't get inside without being spotted, trapped, cornered, sliced, and diced. I was able to softly mantle onto the barstool that's against the wall on the left side of the bar, creep across, and frob all the gold wine bottles and the top row of gold cups; but I simply cannot reach the four gold cups on the bottom row without dropping down there -- and that's the death zone.
I did manage to clean out the casino; that was worth a lot.
But can anybody suggest some way to turn off the light behind the bordello bar?
Thanks,
Dafydd

Sorry, Dafdd, there is no way to turn off the light over the sink behind the bar in the brothel.
As far as the loot, if you don't want to use the lootlist, here are some of the higher $ loot areas:
In the warehouse north of the Doctor's house, a 250 drill bit (behind a barrel).
Each thief has a 100 purse on his belt, and there are 6 of them.
The Grocery, and the Chulentz bathrooms each have a ring at 100 each.
The secret compartment in the plumbing company has a purse (100).
If you haven't found the doctor's house yet, there's lots of loot in there (600 total).
Again, there is a lootlist if you want to get ALL the loot. Hope this helps! :)

I finished this yesterday and I must say I was very impressed with it. The city is very well laid out and the various ways you need to use to get into and out of buildings are excellent and very "thiefy". The notes and certain other "items" are hilarious and work into a very funny storyline. I could have used another rope arrow or two, though.
Overall an excellent first mission and I can't wait for the second part! Thanks, bassmanret! :thumb:
