Just got Thief GOLD, a question about patches.

Post your problems with getting the game to work, (http://www.ttlg.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=153) here. And you need to read the next two entries in the FAQ, because the reinstall of the codec is only the first solution given.

List the problems, what you've already tried, and your system specifications.:thumb:

It took everything I could find to get the games working on my system. I sometimes have to double-click on the file made from Scrooge's Permanent Fix instructions to get the movies working again.

I'm not sure that spelling Thief correctly will really help in TTLG searches, I mean c'mon, will it really narrow down the result that much???

Depends on what you input. While doing research for the Encyclopaedia of the Thief Universe--before I had my own copies of the games--I had to spell words in different ways to find what I was looking for when searching for word combinations. The word by itself isn't as important as it is when grouped with another. My point comes from experience. We've also seen new members (and some old ones) who cry out "HEEELLLP!!!" when they can't find something and it turns out to be because of their bad grammar.

So, not just searching for "Thief" but, say, "all the names in Thief", for instance. The more specific your search, the more important you know how the words are spelled.

You can do it after you install. Yes, there is texture upgrade patches - You missed it by another thread. This isn't addressed in the FAQ, but there was one such thread about it: (http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=99034)
