Destructoid review: 1/10.
This is wrong. No game can be so bad and this one has some nice multiplayer modes. I suspect a personal grudge against Eidos/IO. Probably because of the scandal with the first game.

I see Jim Sterling wrote that review. What a fucking surprise.
[edit] damn I see Eva beat me to it.

Is there some bad blood between Kane & Lynch and Jim Sterling, or does he write bad reviews in general?

Jim Sterling's an opinionated douche. Even more than any of us in that he's usually amazingly wrong about everything, or even if he's not, still remains plainly obnoxious to read.
That said, reviews of the full game seem to be squaring with my opinion of the demo. Guys, I think I should be getting into this games journalism thang.

Jim Sterling is a known troll. Basically everything he writes is specifically designed to enrage people. He's an asshole and he's singlehandedly responsible for bringing Destructoid down to Kotaku's level.

The actual mechanics of the demo left me mostly unimpressed (or rather, dismayed at how tired they felt), but man, when I stumbled into that smeared-out video store and the cops were everywhere and the guy was on the ground with his face blurred out like on tv I couldn't help but to relive the day when I too was strung out on PCP in a Shanghai slum and was also having a shizophrenic attack while fending off a seemingly endless police horde. So in that respect I think IO should be commended.

How is the performance compared to the 1st game?

I wish that I could tell you, but I don't have the space for the demo. You can get it from here.
