Thanks, I just re-installed NecroVision (and found out there was an expansion!!!), so after I play that for a bit, I'll give it a go.

Well, the game has only 4 hours of content (single player mode), therefore the full price or buying it is not worth the effort.
Technically the game is better than the first one, however despite the developer best intentions, even when the shaky camera is disabled, the overall experience it that everything is fucked up: you cannot see the enemies, the cover system is useless, the camera is positioned in a weird way, the story is non-existent and the game is unfinished. Don't get me wrong, there is fun to be found in it, but in the end, the game will leave you empty. No message, no meaning, no redemption, nothing.
Anyway, they already announced 3 DLCs for multi player mode. And they slashed off some $ even on Steam. Bad signs.

Time for my Gene Shalit impression.
Looks like someone should have
lynched the developers!

As one of seemingly few who really enjoyed the first game, I was disappointed by a number of things. The story seemed decent and the gameplay was fine if repetitive.
The first game had some nice set pieces with the absailing, jailbreaks and bank heists, whereas dogdays just has you running from one street full of conveniently placed cover items to the next. And then there was the actual "job" in w/e that place was with the hinds and army dudes.
Nice effort but it feels like they spent so long making the first few missions so nice that they forgot to make the rest of the game. For me personally china should have been a tutorial/get a feel for it section and then moved on to someplace else, or at least mix the gameplay up a bit.
and Lynch wasn't anywhere near as crazy as he should have been, yes I know he was on medication, but still.

Guess I am just going to stick with the first game, and give this one a pass.

I ordered this last week, from play.com, for 25 euros. Got Alan Wake at the same time, for another 25 bucks. I expect to be enjoying some mediocre to decent third person actioneering all this week and the next. It's gonna be swell.

Well I finished this in two evenings, I'd estimate it's around 5-6 hours in length. It's perhaps the most unrelentingly grim and brutal game I've played since Manhunt, especially the level halfway though the game when things go from bad, to extrabad. The story is like a Korean revenge-flick (like Oldboy) crossed with a blockbuster Hollywood action movie and it all looks like Michael Mann's "Miami Vice" remake. Towards the end the story really goes all over the place and sometimes it's hard to understand the protagonists motivations for getting into all the shit they get into. The shooting is quite solid and good fun, but just like it's predecessor there are numerous sequences you'll have to replay and replay and replay before you get past them and it's quite easy to give up in disgust.
I'd say it's been worth about 18,90 of the 25 euros I paid for it. I'm hoping the multiplayer will make up for the remaining 6,10.
