So, any idea what (
http://www.bungie.net/News/content.aspx?type=topnews&cid=15526) Bungie is going to be announcing at (
http://www.bungie.net/defaultsi.aspx) 7:07:07am PST, on the anniversary of the Halo 3 release?
I'd guess something about Halo Wars, but that's being made by Ensemble, not Bungie. Is Bungie off the Halo license completely, since they left Microsoft? In that case, it might be a continuation of Marathon, since apparently there were hints at a link between the Marathon universe and Halo.
Or maybe it'll be something totally new. That would be nice, too.
I like the Superintendent, though. He's pretty awesome. :thumb:

I hope they outright remake the Marathon series- I might actually play them then.

The style of their teasers so far is definitely reminiscent of the artwork and text layout of the Marathon series.
Whatever they do, it won't be the same as the old Bungie glory days. For a start, I think they're too tied to the 360 as platform of choice now, and I don't know about anyone else, but I've already noticed the 360 starting to show its age.
I think Mass Effect highlighted this for me the most; a game praised for the quality of its graphics that is actually rather barren and lo-fi when compared to contemporary PC titles.
Personally, I'd love for them to re-visit the Myth universe, but that couldn't really be done effectively on a console and so is unlikely to happen.
Shame; the world needs more explosive-tossing dwarves.
Also, any Marathon game would probably have to be a remake as the story arc came to a pretty conclusive end in Infinity. I suppose they could explore other characters in the Marathon universe, but Marathon without Durandal wouldn't be Marathon.

Oh how dull.
It appears to just be a Halo 3 campaign enhancement.

I will forever respect Oni because it was about only game which I played on default controls, and it was a 3D beatemup too, but it seriously wasn't all that great? Or good.

hahahahahaha
How wonderfully irritating! "Look! We're going to have a big massive countdown!
What will it be??" then it's some Halo bullshit.

Honestly, I would far prefer a remake of Pathways Into Darkness than Marathon. I think Bungie's done enough with the green super soldier against hordes of aliens concept.
