I actually agree with that. I mean, on the Pathways into Darkness bit- we already know what I think of the green soldier blah blah monsters bit.
However, that does remind me- I'd love to see a remake of Azrael's Tear!

I remember seeing the adverts for Azrael's Tear in PC Gamer around the time of Quake/Duke Nukem. It never came out here, but looked pretty nifty. Wasn't that the one with the guy in funky armour searching for the Holy Grail?

That's the one, yeah. Unfortunately it runs like shit in Dosbox.

Yes! Yes! That would be so awesome.
You've given me the urge to go exploring ancient mouldering cathedrals deep beneath the earth now - I'll have to experiment with Dosbox myself. I recall the game running horribly on machines well above its "min requirements" which might explain the bad performance.

Also, any Marathon game would probably have to be a remake as the story arc came to a pretty conclusive end in Infinity. I suppose they could explore other characters in the Marathon universe, but Marathon without Durandal wouldn't be Marathon.
Any remake of Marathon would end up being a Halo clone anyway, as Halo is pretty much Marathon's spiritual successor. Besides, if you already don't like the series, there's no way a remake will change your mind.
As for Infinity being a conclusive end to the series, I have to disagree. Eternal X does quite a good job at picking up the story where Infinity left off, even though it's a custom (but extremely well-made) scenario and that Durandal is no longer a major character.
