Thanks! I sure thought the area around that was tile - good thing it wasn't. On to more FMs!

Great mission DarthsLair!
But, even with all the hints here, I have one objective left (destroy Majuse), and am stuck.
Since I
didn't open the dining room secret door (even though I got behind it by other means), I'm assuming the opening of this door triggers the his appearance. Saw the hint about searching the library, but only found 2 books in there. One of the books said something about clocks, shadows and light, so I put out all the torches in the dining room, then shot the clock with a fire arrow. Still, nothing.
Can anyone please give me a nudge?

I played this mission today for the first time. I only completed it on Normal difficulty. I haven't tried the harder levels yet. The mission is decidedly sub par due but acceptable considering this is the designer's first.
The best thing about Keeper of the Bell was the final area: It took me some time to take out all the Hammerites on the top floor. I used 2 gas arrows, 3 flash bombs, about 30 regular arrows and 5 five arrows. Only after the first body hit the floor I realized the bell above them is fake. That was a nice surprise.
The architecture in Keeper of the Bell is very basic but I like the effort that was put into decorating those rooms. There were some problems with the sound. I haven't looked at the room brushes but there seems some brushing up to do. At least there is a semblance of logic to the layout of the place with the turbines in the basement, dining and sleeping on the first floor, the library on the second floor and a large chapel on the topmost floor. Since this is a Hammerite mission, there is the obligatory undead-ridden subbasement. I felt the chapel on the top floor is the most impressive area however.
The readme and all the ingame readables were nearly unintelligible, I had difficulties figuring out what the plot was supposed to be. I also felt there were too many books and scrolls. Rather than having ten boring and confusing ones, try to come up with two or three really atmospheric or exciting ones.
There need to be less guards and the remaining ones need to be patrolling the area instead of being stationary with their backs turned towards the player. Better use of light and shadows would allow for better sneaking and getting the drop on unsuspecting Hammerites.

The sequel, To Whom The Bell Tolls, based on this mission is built quite better. But it surely needs update, I remember the sound problems, too. Also good idea to re-release these missions together as a campaign, and to call it "The Bell" for example. Just my opinion. :)

:laff: Yep, it is crappy ! I had run out of time to really complete it with RL getting in the way at that time, and so came :"To whom the Bell tolls" as it's sequel. I had no paitence for Texture work then, and had no idea on Light settings. With the years gone by, I have learned a great deal and will pursue a remake of "Keeper of the Bell" and "To Whom the Bell Tolls' as a Campaign as Winter Cat suggests.
I also plan a revamp of :"Gold in Fort Knocks" if time will be a friend.:)
Edit: I added a date to the thread title, but it didn't change. It must have petrified in the archives !:laff::laff:
Edit: Thankyou for changing the date ! :thumb: :)
