Attacking servants had to be one of the major selling points of Thief for me anyways. But I really hate those two pretenious actors in the Song of the Caverns who talk down on the peasants and are just high and mighty wusses. I like knocking them out midconversation.

I didn't read somedeadguy's post carefully enough -- it was a long one. Actually, I'm not into torture, and I'm certainly not anti-gay. Live and let live. I wish to distance myself from the homophobic part.
What I meant to say was that whenever the male servants are frustrating my efforts, I find them infinitely more annoying than any other AI, because of their inane whining. It gets on my last nerve.
My apologies to Sypha and buglunch, and anyone else who thought that I was sympathetic to the gay-bashing part.

I think I see what you mean, No_Coke_Pepsi. I'm just reading this now and it does seem to be homophobic. Don't worry I know you don't hate gays, but I don't know about the guy who posted this, he seems to think all gay guys are wimps... Who says the servants are gay anyway? Most probably they're straight. And insulting the clothes they wear is dumb because that's how peasents dressed back then anyway, so it gives the game a nice period touch. I missed the hoods in Thief 2. I can't hurt the servants because they're just so harmless and scared of everything, I feel pity for them. I don't know why so many people dislike servants, who wouldn't harm a fly, yet so many people like murderous haunts, zombies (not that I don't) who delight in killing others.
WE NEED MORE TOLERANCE TOWARDS THE SERVANTS!

I'm on Sypha's side on this one. I never went out of my way to hurt or torture the servants. I avoided them as carefully as the guards. The only difference was I wouldn't hesitate to *whack* a servant upside the head if he/she found me, whereas w/the guards I would just run flapping my arms and screaming like a school girl

I've peered into this thread just because of a few complaints posted on various forums. While I don't agree with the language certain members are using regarding their views on the servants, I don't honestly think they meant it to be gay-bashing. If so, they did a very bad job at it. Instead, I just think they weren't being sensitive to others.
If comments were intentionally directed at Sypha, I won't stand for it. But for the time being, let's assume they were just being a little insensitive. Let's try to think first before we post, OK guys?
