lol I am part of that crowd too. PARTICULARILY in games, although it strikes in cars and stores too. I try to control the impulse, in real life, at least, and have a bit of logic about it. But in games the logic often escapes me until *after* I've already done it.

Thankfully there's a reload button. . .or at least a second chance in games. lol I fell prey to the 'ooh whats this lever' do in Guild Wars too, and got myself rather spectacularily slaughtered

But, this time, in Thief, I rather already knew what it did - most of them are fairly easy to figure out without toggling, though I sometimes still do, just because I can. And for some reason this time I felt like shutting the gate after me. *shrugs* Who could know they were *so* paranoid?
