After a long silence I return... (student teaching: It's like being a guard in the City. You spend most of your time unconscious, and the rest wondering who hit you.)...
...to say that I just finished reading CoT on a Kindle 2, complete with having it read chunks of it out loud to me via text-to-speech.
First, I have to say I enjoyed the book :-) The writing, editing, and pacing (something many folks ignore) were spot-on, to the point where I was actually surprised to see the few typos that exist.
However, I've never before been able to get all the way through it, just because I don't enjoy reading that much off a computer screen or from a 3-ring binder with a hundred pages of printout on it. So getting it on the Kindle was much fun, since it meant I could read it in an even more novel-like form. And it even looked good/formatted well for the Kindle, since I used Amazon's format converter on the printer-friendly .htm version.
Now, I realize that since the Kindle only works in the US, a lot of Thief fans can't use it specifically--which is unfortunate, at least for those who would want to--but there are other brands of e-reader, and I'd endorse them for reading works like CoT just as much as the Kindle. Though that text-to-speech is nice; it meant I could keep 'reading' while driving :cheeky:

I'm really glad you liked it! I hope you'll find the redo of it just as entertaining. It's quite a bit longer (since it merged with my plans for COT2) so screen-reading would have been even more prohibitive. I really ought to get back to it... I haven't touched it since early Jan.

I definitely look forward to the redo, then! Is it a rewrite, or does it simply add on to the end?

It's a rewrite, so the new stuff is mixed in.
