The contoller(s) for PS3 could be used for a boxing sim very well. I'll wager Natal won't have the sensitivity it promises, much like the Wii mote. I just don't see what good can come of it. The Wii mote obviously theoretically had so many applications. Stick a few buttons and an analogue stick on his PS3 thing and you have what Wii promised.

Honestly, all of those of you saying "it has been done before and failed" are pulling an utter straw man argument. Yes, it has been tried before. But it hasn't been launched by one of the biggest (if not THE biggest) PC / gaming company in the whole world and backed up by a whole variety of partners in a market that is much bigger and more open to games and tech.

Sure, Sega was pretty big in the day, but it was still a joke compared to MS today and had a marker tens, if not hundreds times smaller.

Also I think Natal is truly a revolutionary tech if they can popularize it. If not for games, think of its applications - navigating your whole computer with just a few waves of hands and your voice. Cue in Minority Report esque interafce.

EDIT: Watched that sega video. Please don't tell me you're actually comparing Natal to that? You're kidding, right?

What's there to say? Beats me. For FPSes I'll stick to a mouse and keyboard thanks, which is bound to be far less tiring than moving your arms about.

Tired arms thing for starters. I'm curious to see how it holds up in a combat situation, though I'm guessing it should do.

However, all this does is get me more anxious to see MS put this in the fucking OS. Seriously, that should be their prime focus for this tech. Imagine walking into the room, pointing around at the screen to select the volume, then turn it down, making the international sign for jerking off and BAM! Windows loads up Youporn while you're getting the tissues.
